Paralleling W Broad, Sullivant serves as the secondary commercial corridor for both the Hilltop and Franklinton. The Hilltop portion is longer and the western edge is painfully car-oriented as you will see. Here I start out west and move in towards the inner-city. Sullivant actually has a rather good rate of occupied commercial structures. Houses tend to be hit or miss. My camera battery died so there are just two commercial buildings missing on the edge of the Hilltop section which just becomes green space on one side and residential on the other. Once you cross I-71 you're on Franklinton's side of Sullivant.

West of Demorest to Sullivant Ave's end looks like more of the same, so I'm heading towards the more interesting urban stretch.

It was a one-of-a-kind place. Glad I got there before they closed.

While most Somalis are up in NE Columbus there is a sizable presence here. The west side also has seen more Russians and Ukrainians move in.

Even though it isn't the most appealing section in the city, it's definately one of the more diverse food options!

Haha, great point!

Heh. I stopped in that Johnny's Pizza once. Placed an order for pickup without knowing anything about it. Just knew that it was a pizza place close to a friends' house. Showed up after 20 minutes and the guy acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. Took another 20 minutes for him to make my order (one pizza). Wasn't very good.

Nice photo collection though. ;)

You probably weren't expecting to get trolled in person. Jack's was a much better, troll-free experience for sure. I am still intrigued by Hashi African Restaurant; do they mean to tell me they make every kind African food there is?

so nice to see any obvious signs of immigration in ohio at all, but particularly in that area. as always great job!

yeah the triple add-on made my jaw drop, but if i had to choose a favorite its gotta be "b titties bash!"

Mexican AND Cambodian in one restaurant!!!!  I'm going to go out on a limb and bet that it's the only one of those in the country!  Maybe the world?!  Pretty cool :)

Yes, and I'm sad I forgot about this place. They had great Mexican food which was close to what you find at taco trucks in the area and I never did try the Cambodian menu. :(

Columbusites tend to forget that there are some unique options out on the west side because those that don't live there avoid it by and large, leading to the closure of unique local places like this, which only hurts any sort of revitalization efforts Maybe they'd have better luck on N High or even W Broad if they were to reopen. Oh well, keep an eye out for Franklinton's Sullivant Ave which has its own local flavor (think lots of windowless dive bars and less restaurants).
