The weather has been spectacular as of late. Infused with warm, sunny days upon the arrival of spring and the occasional downpour, I decided to spend some time photographing northern Kentucky and Cincinnati, Ohio from various vantage points, and covered Walnut Hills.

Fort Thomas, Kentucky, located in Campbell County east of Newport and south of the Ohio River, is perched along the hilltops. It is known as the city of "beautiful homes," and offers unparraleled views of Cincinnati. I have only one photograph of the city, and it is of the Grande Villa subdivision.

Villa Grande, a tutor-inspired residential complex, offers great views of Cincinnati.

Newport, Kentucky, located along the banks of the Ohio and Licking rivers in Campbell County, is a 3.5-square-mile city home to 17,000 residents. The historic community lies across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, Ohio.

Newport began a slow decline during the rather turbulent time between the 1940s and the 1980s. It gained a reputation as "Sin City," although efforts made in 1982 -- notably, the ban of nude dancing, led to redevelopment efforts, such as RiverCenter, Newport on the Levee, Newport Aquarium and SouthShore. The city is home to a vibrant riverfront development, and a re-surging downtown that includes the Peace Bell, the world's largest swinging bell.

Of course, I can't neglect Cincinnati, Ohio. Cincinnati, with a population of over 300,000, is the cultural and industrial hub for southwestern Ohio, and is the state's third largest city. I focused on Queen City Square and Walnut Hills.

Hope you enjoyed these photographs of a spectacular metropolitan region. Watch for more soon!

It's amazing how much quicker things bloom in southern ohio compared to northern ohio....I've only seen a few daffodils so far, let alone cherry blossoms or significant budding on any trees.

how bout this one? interesting + a good place to drink some swiss miss cocoa

haha

You know, I have no idea what the history is behind that house. There are similarly designed houses in that neighborhood, but none are as elaborate as that.

Think Sound of Music.

Anyway, great photos.
