I did my senior college thesis on Weirton, WV and the Weirton Steel Company.  I am saddened by this news.  I love Weirton.  I will always have a spot in my heart for Weirton.

my fav mental image of weirton is that it was the first place i ever heard of that totally boycotted the potential coming of anti-union walmart. they had billboards up all over over and it made a lot of news at the time. did they ever end up building one there? i hope not.

This is really sad... Weirton's practically metro Pittsburgh to me... so I'm pulling hard for this area to rebound.  It really is a great area with wonderful assets... it's just been forgotten by everyone.
