Posted April 19, 201015 yr What's with the extraordinarily large black space at the top of the main UrbanOhio webspage? Is it just me?
April 19, 201015 yr I get it with Chrome on my laptop, but not with Firefox on my desktop. Which browser do you use? I don't think this is a factor, but laptop - Vista, desktop - XP.
April 19, 201015 yr Chrome as a product of Google tends to be unapologetically progressive in how it reads code compared with other browsers, and this is likely the result of a change in HTML, or something of that nature. You'll notice if you highlight over the big black space that all the menu options show up (textually anyway) and are missing where they should be down below.
April 19, 201015 yr The front page is like that on Safari and Chrome. It will be fixed with the new design.
April 20, 201015 yr Any WebKit based browser will have the problem (Chrome, Safari, etc.). I think we had this discussion before and I believe I determined it was a problem in one of the JavaScript files. Most likely, there is something being done not quite right in the code and WebKit is rendering it to specification, and the other browsers are taking liberties to render it in the quirky way (which is probably why the quirk was coded in the first place). If the site design is being changed soon, it would be more effort than it's worth to try and fix it.
April 20, 201015 yr This explains a lot! IMO, Chrome is so much better than Firefox, though, that I'll learn to put up with the "black hole." :)
April 20, 201015 yr The "black hole" should be fixed in the next day or so guys. Hang in there till then!
