Posted April 22, 201015 yr Hi everyone, I thought I'd post to let you know that Cleveland Bicycle Week, May 15 through 23, is taking shape. Here are some highlights of the week: * Walk+Roll in Kamms Corners neighborhood * Old Brooklyn Pedal for Prizes * Downtown Cleveland Public Art Tour * Campus District/Central Neighborhood Bicycle Tour (of new and proposed development) * Bike Slavic Village * Ride of Silence (in tribute for people who have died while bicycling) * Bike to Work Day You can visit www.clevelandbicycleweek.org for a full list of events and promotions.
May 14, 201015 yr *bump* Anyone planning to participate in any of the festivities for CBW, which begins tomorrow?
May 14, 201015 yr ^ I really wanted to go to the hooley, sounded fun. But a Kelley's Island trip was scheduled and this weekend is shapping up like a beauty. Plus there are only so many boating days in Cleveland.
May 21, 201015 yr I took part and arrived at the Bike to Work event in front of where the new bike station will be located. There seem to have been a good crowd; about 40 or so folks were there when I got there (late). About 400 cyclists participated in Wednesday's Ride of Silence, representing a real nice cross-section of folks. I think that there was an overall good showing at events throughout the week, thanks in large part to OCBC, Walk+Roll, ClevelandBikes, NOACA, and City Planning. Well done, Cleveland! (The ride back home may be a bit damp, but that's what rain gear and fenders are for.)
May 21, 201015 yr Unfortunately I did not see a single cyclist on my city-streets commute into downtown this morning. (I should be cycling to work, but I don't and don't have a good excuse.)
