I recently sold my home in a west side suburb and looking to move downtown near East 4th street or within ½ mile walk to the Q and Progressive field. I’d love to be able to find a 1bedroom for $750 with utilities or less if that’s even possible. Are there any locations you recommend that are safe and I can walk with a laptop in my bag at 10pm? Is there a list of apartment buildings within ½ mile of gateway? Is that price range realistic? Is rent and lease length generally negotiable?

Hey drive....I lived in Huron Square Apartments on Huron and East 9th...about a 5 minute walk from the Jake.  I lived with my gf in a 2BR on the 3rd floor, and our rent was $1175/mo, with utilities ranging from $50 - $100/mo, plus parking across the street was $85/mo.  I know that single bedrooms go for the $700 range you are looking for on the upper floors...if you want to park under the building it is $125/mo...hope this helps some

Have you checked out the Osborne Building at E. 9th and Huron.  Looks like one bedrooms run from 725 to 800.  You can google and get a website with prices and pics.
