Posted May 12, 201015 yr Conaton Learning Commons at Xavier University One of the fringe benefits of working for Xavier University is the access that I am allowed to photograph the ongoing construction projects. Yesterday was a faculty- and staff-only tour of the Hoff Quad, specific to the Conaton Learning Commons. We began in Magis Plaza, which features three-story floor-to-ceiling windows, rich woodwork and flexible learning space. This is the lobby of the Conaton Learning Commons looking out to Schott Hall. Looking towards the three story Magis Plaza as it wraps around the front of the building. A sweeping staircase connects all three floors. A view inside the Center for Teaching Excellence. Classrooms. Writing Center. The Gallery and Performance Space in the Commons' distinctive tower provides space for student, faculty and community art displays and presentations. A view of the 200-seat auditorium. A view outside towards the new dormitory and dining complex rising across the street. Enjoy these updates and stay tuned for more coming very soon! Original blog entry -- http://bit.ly/93E8U9
May 13, 201015 yr Yes, the addition of these two buildings alone adds over 30% more space to the campus. The addition of the new dorm alone will be approximately 20-30%!
May 13, 201015 yr Looks great, but I just realized that Hospitals, Performance Venues, and University Buildings are starting to look very similar. I think it's time to add some new materials to the mix.
