Looks better in the photos than I remember it from a few years ago. Muncie once had a lot of heavy industry that paid good wages, but I think that except for the college, the economic picture there is pretty dismal.

 

The cities in that part of the state (Muncie, Marion, Anderson, Kokomo) all were heavily dependent on the auto industry, particularly General Motors, and all of them are having a rough time of it.

It has that Midwestern look that I never thought I would miss. Cleaner, neater than cities in the South and West.

 

Thanks for sharing the third tier cities with us Ink. I have passed by Munciemany times but have never stopped.

 

Have to bring up this old Chestnut again ....
