No downtown pictures here, not that much is being missed.  Recently I stopped in Sylvania on my way home from Toledo.  My mom grew up and my grandfather, grandmother and uncle are buried in Sylvania so I stopped by the cemetery.

I called up my mom when I noticed an old brick school (Burnham) was demolished.  Come to find out she went there for 9th and 10th grades.  Then when I stopped by the museum I was told 2 other schools all from around the same era (built in 1920s-1930s) are beind demolished.  One (Maplewood) is where my mom went for all of elementary.

Construction on Burnham began in 1925.  In the article below are some photos that show the nice architectural detail on the building.

I bet these schools don't have any pencils. If they did, they'd be called the Pennsylvania Schools.

i wonder what else in toledo is gone after a year of being away
