I've been considering Huron Square or the Osborn Apartments. What are your guys opinions on these two places? Are they a nice place to live? And which one do you believe is better? Me and my girlfriend will be looking for a 1 bedroom apartment next year so we have time but we wanted to start looking now. And what is your opinion on Statler Arms and what are the prices there? We are looking to pay between $600 and $800. And what other apartments would you recommend that fit our price range in Downtown.

I like Statler Arms, but I hear the quality of the units can vary.  No opinion on the other two you mentioned.  As for other suggestions, 1900 Euclid Avenue (right across from Cleveland-Marshall) might fit your price range.  They have one bedrooms and some good amenities, like underground parking, in-unit washer/dryer and high ceilings.  I know people who really like living in Crittenden as well and I believe you can get a 1 bdrm in that price range.  Actually, I think there are a few members of UO that live there.

where do you live now?

Eastside suburb unfortunately

but its good for cleveland as you won't be vacating a space in OC, Tremont, etc.

I'm waiting for Mayor McCleveland to weigh in as the Osborn/Huron Square is his 'hood.

East 4th has units in your price range.

Really i thought they were all sold out. I was originally hoping for 668 but now that doesn't seem realistic since they sold out right away.

I don't know about availability, I just meant that their units start in your price range.  If you looked already and they said they're all booked up then I'm sorry about getting your hopes up.

I'm waiting for Mayor McCleveland to weigh in as the Osborn/Huron Square is was his residential 'hood.

He has since taken up residence in my kingdom.

How did he ever convince his wife they should move in with you?

ha... been a little busy of late.

MTS is "allegedly" my neighbor these days.  I keep waiting to see some very tall, well dressed, puerto rican - african american hybrid walking around the common areas of our complex with a handful of chili peppers in one hand and a  Barney's bag in the other, but as of yet... haven't.

as to the OP question.  I lived in the Osborn 6 years.  Loved it.  Unique layouts for units that provide more natural light (due to the v shaped nature of the building) than any place I have been in downtown.  Management there is great.  Very personable, and responsive.  Plus they have some great services.  They have a movie rental program... if you see one on the list you want and request it, when its in they will bring it over to your place and set it inside the door... and pick it up after you call and tell them it is ready.  they do the same with dry cleaning.  and though it is not the most elaborate in the world, it is nice to have a private fitness room in the basement. 2 tredmills, 2 eliptical, bike, nautilus, etc.  I would reccomend that place to anyone.  I spent 4 years in there with a roommmate, and 2 with my wife in a different unit.  I do like osborn more than huron square.  Osborn as I mentioned has way more light, huron square is your more typical historic renovation of former offices.  Living room with large windows in the front and stretching back to the hall with no additional windows.  Osborn is also in general a younger residnet base than huron square.  I would also check out the pointe at gateway as they do rent out units that have not been sold as condos and should hit your price point.  Great area.  I always loved the fact that the things you wanted to do were right outside (ball games, theatre, nightlife, etc) but you are a block removed so you don't have to "hear it" all the time if you want to stay in and have some peace.  let me know if you have any more questions.
