After securing an NCAA Division I Women's Regional Tournament for 2006 and the NCAA Division I Women's Final Four for 2007, organizers are making the turn for home that will bring the best of women's college basketball here in consecutive postseasons. This kicks off a very exciting period of time for us, said Mid-American Conference Commissioner Rick Chryst, speaking at the unveiling of the 2007 Women's Final Four logo at Tower City. We've had 59 years of men's sports and 25 years of women's sports and this is one of the most significant days in the history of the MAC, Chryst continued. The MAC, along with Cleveland State University and help from the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, will serve as host institutions for both the 2006 Division I Women's Regional Tournament and 2007 NCAA Women's Final Four at Quicken Loans Arena... www.cleveland.com/sun

March 16, 200718 yr After the thrashing the Lady Buckeyes took from Purdue during the Big Ten Tournament, I doubt OSU will make it to the finals. :-(

March 28, 200718 yr This is how the Cleveland media should refer to the things happening in the flats, rather in general. One of Cleveland's most popular nightlife areas, The Flats, along the revitalized Cuyahoga River, is undergoing a face lift along its entire East Bank. Fret not. The West Bank offers much to enjoy. Instead of always putting a negative spin on things!
March 29, 200718 yr Now if I could only get Bill Simmons to accept one of my umpteen invitations to come to Cleveland for a weekend, we'd really be rolling in the ESPN limelight...
March 30, 200718 yr If you see anyone representing Louisiana State, don't ask them about Pokey Chatman. And don't confuse Crayfish with Crawfish.
March 31, 200718 yr If you see anyone representing Louisiana State, don't ask them about Pokey Chatman. And don't confuse Crayfish with Crawfish. What is the difference?
April 2, 200718 yr I noticed while watching North Carolina v. Tenn that the court has a guitar stretching across the entire court. Looks kinda cool, I like the idea and is a good way to impose the 'Cleveland Rocks' brand into the viewer's minds! Oh, and GO RUTGERS...the Big East can make it 6 Championships out of the past 8 (UConn = 4, Notre Dame = 1, Rutgers = 1?).

April 6, 200718 yr From the letters to the editor section of the PD today: "Clevelanders were excep tionally hospitable during the Women's Final Four. We decided at the last minute to come to your city. Everyone from the cab drivers to the hotel workers treated us with a great deal of respect and kindness. The city was impressive, with plenty of places to dine and plenty to do. We were especially impressed with Tower City. Hats off to the organizers for the weekend. The buses were a blessing and relieved a lot of stress for everyone, I am sure. We definitely will return to Cleveland to see the Indians play this summer. Thank you for a great four days."
