July 28, 201014 yr 20-30 years ago Long Beach had a terrible, dangerous reputation. It was full of druggies and SRO's and no one wanted to live there, and then it started to become somewhat yuppified by people who couldn't afford the more upscale beach communties. Though now, like every place else in the NY area, it's real estate is grossly inflated. http://www.mainstreetpainesville.org/
July 29, 201014 yr Not at all what I was expecting. Somehow, I thought it would be a bit less junky looking there, so close to the shore. Still, looks like it has character.
