Newark no longer home field to Babe Ruth

Organization says it no longer can afford to

host tournament here

NEWARK -- Babe Ruth League Inc. is planning to

pull out of Newark.

Beginning next year, the 16- to 18-year-old World

Series will be moving to another city and the

organization will begin to divest itself of the Newark

complex, according to a press release Wednesday.

Dave Froelich, special events director for Babe Ruth

League, said it is unknown what will happen to the

fields.
