September 11, 201014 yr Really small towns in Ohio are dying. Nothin but empty storefronts. Look above, you won't see that many empty storefronts.
September 11, 201014 yr Yeah, it seems those buildings are mostly occupied. Great shots. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
September 12, 201014 yr Perhaps many spaces are technically occupied but the town is like so many in Ohio - just dead looking. It's a nice looking small Ohio town after the worldwide apocalyptic plague.
September 12, 201014 yr Love that building in the third and fourth (and 7th) to last pics. Also, the last pic gave me a laugh...I guess that's the point? The church is cool, too. Hey, it's a cool town. The name New Vienna makes me think about all the "New ____" towns, and how some, like New York or New Orleans, totally surpassed their namesakes in size/reputation. Countless others, such as New Vienna, never quite got there.
September 13, 201014 yr I must have been through this town more than I thought. I always remember hanging a left in front of the blue and white building in pic #7 because the turn is awkward.
September 19, 201014 yr The cornice in the close-up is quite elegant. The whole facade of that building is fairly intact, despite some tackiness; what a glorious thing it could be, restored.
September 19, 201014 yr ^Yes that facade and cornice are beautiful. That building had very large windows at one time. The second floor bays would've been stunning. Now those replacements up there are sooo tiny. They almost look too small.
