Looks rather desolate, but the weather contributes to that. The courthouse is classy, and I like this facade:

Rainy, always rainy. Well, I guess a person could get used to it.  Some good pictures. You should try again in Febuary. LOL  Beautiful downtown. Did you get any shots of the international bridge? A beautiful bridge, and tourist trains (road trains) to take people on a tour of it.  If I ever lived in the UP, this would be my city.

From what I recall the Canadian Sault Ste Marie is larger and more active than this sleepy-looking place (albeit with a suprising number of older tallish buildings).

When I was there several years ago (2003, I think), the Canadian side appeared much more sleepy and depressed. The Michigan side was lively with tourists spending money, and playing miniature golf, at businesses near the locks.
