These are my shots from a ColDay-guided tour of Cincinnati and a little bit of Dayton.  There's so much to see in both cities, in terms of architecture, neighborhoods, etc.; I'll definitely be coming back to Southwest Ohio since one day doesn't do it justice.  This trip was a good start as I was able to learn a lot of new things, Dayton in particular was a pleasant surprise.

Some residences in the SF-like neighborhood of Tusculum

Some Hyde Park houses.  Although I didn't take many pics of the Hyde Park/Mt. Lookout area, I was impressed with its family friendly characteristics.  I saw several families spending their Saturday afternoon in community areas such as Hyde Park Square and Ault Park.  These neighborhoods appeal to a demographic you would expect to find only in the suburbs of a lot of other cities.

Glencoe in all its abandoned glory.  ColDay was told off by a hipster when he drove the wrong way on a one-way street around this vacant block

Dayton-Next 3 shots are from the Oregon neighborhood.  Surely one of the most organic and Bohemian neighborhoods in the midwest

Cincinnati is such an amazing and beautiful city, I also plan on visiting the city again. Thanks for sharing your wonderful pictures.

Great great shots!  I'm glad you came!  I'll be in Indy shortly.

Nice Show!!  Welcome!

Very nice work, the Queen in all her glory.

Awesome looks at Cincy. Looks cozy.

I hope CDM ran over the hipster. They're squirrely, but if you startle them with the headlights you can usually clip them and get a nice satisfying splat.

Great pics! Some observations:

1) Someone needs to give Walnut Hills some lovin.  East Walnut Hills has seen significant investment recently (although the part neighboring Evanston is still pretty rough), but Walnut Hills seems to still be in a state of decline.

2) Interesting to see the difference between the Covington and OTR canyon shots.  Covington is almost exclusively 2 story buildings, with a 3 story building scattered around here or there.  OTR is almost exclusively 4 story buildings, with some 3 story ones sprinkled in.  This reminds me of the studies Jeffery did about the Louisville aesthetic...and makes me wonder if Covington was more influenced by the state line then by the region.  Makes you wonder exactly how powerful a divide the Ohio River actually is.

3) The Oregon district is an awesome neighborhood, and is absolutely one of the most organic, cool neighborhoods in the state. It manages to pull off this vibe without the presence of a large university right next door (like Clifton in Cincy or Short North in Columbus), which is especially cool.

Nice shots!

Where were you standing when you took this one? I can't get my bearings:

Also, love the Oregon District in Dayton

Yeah, that's it! Thanks, I love that area.
