not sure if this was mentioned anywhere, but lorain's massive near westside waterfront power plant, built in 1919, is being torn down by first energy who own the property. good news is it will open up more lakefront near downtown. hopefully they think long and hard about some creative way to use the land instead of just filling it right back up with typical housing!
