November 11, 201014 yr Yeah, this is like beating down a little panda cub with an axe a baby seal for it's pelt, it's just that easy. I feel sorry for Michigan, in a third world kind of way! :| Fixed that for you!
November 11, 201014 yr Is the rivalry between OSU and Michigan kind of one sided in that only OSU really cares about it? I'm in a class with a guy who went to undergrad at Michigan and I mentioned I was an OSU fan and he didn't really react. He indicated that Michigan doesn't really pay much mind to OSU, which I found odd since growing up all I heard about from OSU fans was banter against Michigan. Is this really the case, or is this guy just off?

November 11, 201014 yr Well there is always the one side of the rivalry that doesn't care as much. With the USC/UCLA rivalry I think USC cares a little more.

November 12, 201014 yr Is the rivalry between OSU and Michigan kind of one sided in that only OSU really cares about it? I'm in a class with a guy who went to undergrad at Michigan and I mentioned I was an OSU fan and he didn't really react. He indicated that Michigan doesn't really pay much mind to OSU, which I found odd since growing up all I heard about from OSU fans was banter against Michigan. Is this really the case, or is this guy just off? I don't think it's less of a rivalry for them, but Michigan students are very different than Ohio State students. I dated a girl who went to Michigan during college. I can't tell you how many times I would be on campus after games and see legions of students leaving the stadium with backpacks. The first time I saw it I asked her "isn't it kind of obvious trying to sneak liquor into the stadium in your backpack?". She said "they all go to the library after the game." I was dumbfounded.
November 12, 201014 yr In my 6 years at Michigan it's always been kind of like that. After the games, freshman and sophmores would go out to eat, and then go back to their dorms and just chill. Juniors, Seniors, and grad students would just go to the bar. Large house parties were really not our thing. I mean they happened, and occasionally a block party but they were EXTREMELY tame to what other schools would do. The cops rarely got called because they wouldn't get out of control. I think Michigan fans have become indifferent to the whole rivalry thing. The last time we beat them was what, 2003? I mean, you know we have a hell alot of other things to brag about . :-D For the moment, we'll just dwell on the laurels of our past accomplishments until our team dominates again.
November 12, 201014 yr You sound like Gloria Gaynor reliving her wonder years of 1979 at a Reno Circus Circus showroom. *we'll always have the Cooper years!* But it is quite obvious that Ohio State fans are more passionate towards the OSU/UM rivalry than UM is. Hell, Michigan State probably hates UM more and UM doesn't even acknowledge them. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers

Which just proves my theory that Michigan students are a lot smarter and more mature than the people I went to college with. At OU, kids would be so drunk by noon, they wouldn't even make it to football games. Universities do vary greatly. Michigan is one of the most cerebral I have seen. I will always love Ann Arbor. It is a very warm and comforting place, and there is real intellectual gravitas, not just kids loaded with alcohol and bleary-eyed ambition. The place is on a much higher moral plane than what I'm used to seeing.
November 12, 201014 yr I don't know what Ann Arbor you're talking about but the one I know is full of boring white people, quiet Asians, ain't-been-black-since-the-80's-blacks, and ... November 26, 201014 yr I am going to the game tomorrow and can't wait to destroy Michigan! Anyone else going?
November 26, 201014 yr The one day a year I root for anything from Michigan! I can't wait! I really hope the second best college football team in Ohio gets trounced.
November 27, 201014 yr The one day a year I root for anything from Michigan! I can't wait! I really hope the second best college football team in Ohio gets trounced. Ram and his buddy Evergrey spent the 2009 season trying to convince everyone that: - The UC Bearcats' recent success was not a short-term aberration but was instead going to be the rule in the future; - The Bearcats 2009 season would lead to a National Championship Game; and - Coach Kelly would lead the Bearcats into this glorious future Instead, this happened: - Coach Kelly left a 12-0 UC team before it's Sugar Bowl game against Florida to coach Notre Dame; - UC gets crushed 51-24 by Florida; and - UC follows up its 2009 12-1 Big East Championship season with a 2010 4-6 season and is now fighting to stay out of last place in the Big East Meanwhile: - OSU wins the Rose Bowl against Oregon; - OSU follows their 10-2 2009 season with a 10-1 2010 season to date; and - OSU is fighting for a share of the Big Ten Championship, which would be their 6th straight Big Ten title either outright or shared Evergrey has had the good sense keep his head down lest people remember just how wrong he was. Ram decides to speak up and remind everyone of his past errors instead. It just goes to show that some people have more guts than brains.
