WAHOO!!!!!

OH YEAHHH!!!

It's now official:  #1 THE Ohio State University Buckeyes vs. the #2 LSU Tigers for the National Championship on January 7th.

I wish that we'd be ranked no.2. OSU will continue to take a lot of heat for perceived lack of speed. Sure hope we can silence the critics this year. Go Bucks!

GO BUCKS!  Third title shot for Ohio State and Coach Tressel in the last six years.

We shall see.. OSU has to be the underdog in this game.  It took LSU a total of 6 OT periods to lose both of their games, plus this is a relative home game for them.  Then again, underdogs seem to have a way of pulling these games out as of late, so it may be a good thing.

WOW! Their prices are way off!  I know people who bought tickets for as little as $200, lol... Mostly under $400...

Good for James "The Animal" Laurinaitis.  He joins to ranks of great Ohio State linebackers like Gradishar, Cousineau, Spielman, Katzenmoyer and Hawk.

Ohio State-Michigan to play after Thanksgiving in 2009

Tuesday, December 11, 2007

CLEVELAND — Thanksgiving leftovers and the Ohio State-Michigan game could become a new tradition.  The Big Ten will move to a 13-week schedule beginning in 2009, pushing the rivalry game and the rest of the conference's schedule to the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Personally, I doubt whether having "The Game" before or after Thanksgiving makes any difference to most people.  But if moving the last Big Ten game back one week allows for a bye week, then it sounds like a good idea.

Quick break from talking about OSU football to talk about OSU "football".  Well, Men's Soccer anyway.  Buckeyes advance to their first soccer semifinal.  OSU routs Bradley 4-0 to play UMass on Friday.

13 Ohio State juniors fill out paperwork to measure draft interest

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State coach Jim Tressel said Thursday that he has encouraged 13 of his underclassmen to fill out the paperwork to gauge where they might go in the NFL draft next spring.  The disclosure came during Ohio State's bowl media day. The top-ranked Buckeyes (11-1) play No. 2 LSU (11-2) in the Bowl Championship Series national title game at the Louisiana Superdome on Jan. 7.

Not one but two national championship games for Ohio State.  One for football and other for "football"/soccer.

GO BUCKS!!!

Well, the OSU soccer team got knocked off in the final by Wake Forest.  Great season for the Buckeyes to make it as far the championship game.

Coaches share final thoughts on eve of title game

By Tim May, THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

NEW ORLEANS -- The day before the big game, LSU football coach Les Miles described his team's mood as "pent up, trapped, held hostage."  Ohio State coach Jim Tressel said the Buckeyes are prepared.  Ohio State played its most recent game Nov.17, a win at Michigan that wrapped up the Buckeyes' third straight Big Ten championship.  LSU last played in the Southeastern Conference title game Dec.1, beating Tennessee.

hmm...OSU starts strong, and is getting beat now.  Have we heard this story before?

Ouch..Ohio is cursed.

Shameful!

well that just sucks

Well, it was a rebuilding year so, really, no one should be surprised they lost.

I just think it's quite impressive that Ohio State has been to the national championship three times within six years (though we lost the latter two, still).  So hey, I keep positive and still GO BUCKS!

Last year the story line was that Troy, Ted & the boys hung out partying and didn't take the game seriously enough (I never bought that cause the pre-bowl period is meant for hanging out; all the teams do it.  That doesn't mean there's not a time for serious game prep -- you think Tressel would allow otherwise?  please).  What's the excuse going to be this time?  ... not prepping guys enough to have them not run into punters?

I agree...

I thought the excuse last year was because of the long time off inbetween games was what done them in.

Boeckman lost that game for them, plain and simple.  Their defense played well but you can't continually give them the ball in our territory.

That first big Wells run for the TD reminded me of the Ginn kickoff return the second it happened..

Well, I could deal with this loss but after the 0-6 run of John Cooper against the SEC(including 2 losses to South Carolina in a row) and his miserable 2-10-1 against Meatchicken, I am done as a fan.  We had an inferior team that had many chances to beat them.  And what about Fox's great coverage?  They totally sucked.  Did anyone EVER see the first personal foul?  And we had to wait until after the next play to see Jenkins step out of bounds on his interception.  I got banned last night forever on the Buckeye Planet forum for bitching and bashing - Oh well - I guess I'll have many tailgate items to put up on Ebay including my alumni tix.  Every man's got a breaking point - Morgan Freeman as "Red" - Shawshank Redemption ... and I reached mine last night.

What a fan you are ...they've been to the national title game 3 times in the last 6 years, and have won once.  They have beaten Michigan the past four years in a row, and have been extremely successful.  Hell, this year they were picked to finish fourth in the big ten.  I'd say congrats to the Buckeyes for a great season in what was supposed to be an off season.

Oh and if you think being a Buckeye fan is hard, try being a bengals fan...

You've got to be kidding me.  This is the ONLY school I know that has fans that'll get disappointed that we lost the THIRD GAME out of 33 games and throw it in the John Cooper-era.  Talk about overexaggeration...

Being happy to just make it to the dance doesn't cut it.. you gotta dance with the homecoming queen for it to be a successful night..

They are the Big 10 champions and "beat Michigan."  That's enough to dance about.

I used to be a Bengals Fan too!!  But I began to realize I was wasting 4 hours on Sundays to watch them lose year after year.

I went to OSU and went to 5 games this year including the loss to Illinois.  I have tailgate parties every game.  But suffering through the Cooper years took a big toll on me.  Too many losses to weak teams in bowl games after they lost to Michigan almost every year was hard to swallow. And I started having the same feelings of lost time but, instead of 4 hours it was a whole day.  I knew we were going to lose and I could accept that but they actually had a chance to beat them if it wasn't for stupid penalties and poor play calling.  And I heard that the players were fighting amongst themselves at half time.

We'll see what Tressel is made of the next 2 seasons playing USC away and at home....

Oh the hardships you endure! Damn, man, I totally forgot how much of a pain it is to suffer 3 losses in 3 years

Can you think of a school that would be easier to be a fan of?  I can't.

Were you paging me or New Orleans Lady?

I wasn't paging anyone. Didn't mean to offend you if your from louisiana...

I was in vegas when this went down.  Can the bucks just win ONE?  I know we've been 3 times in the past decade, but i'm sick of getting crap from the Yankees, BoSox, Giants, etc. fans!!!!

Like it or not the way OSU spends so much on their  "student-athletes", they will be a long-term target. For better or worse OSU will probably start being lump in with teams like the Yankees, Duke,  Steelers, and UK - teams people love to hate, and when they fail to win it all people are going to gloat.

Well as a former student athelete at OSU...it hurts.

Eh, it hurts to be at the top :D!
