October 1, 201113 yr The sooner Luke Fickle is out the better I really cannot stand the dude and that's being nice lol
October 3, 201113 yr My shop wasn't a ghost town during the game on Saturday, even though it was a home game and I'm close to campus. Bad sign for the Bucks.
October 4, 201113 yr That long season is getting longer. Ohio State football: Help isn’t on the way Offense sorely needed to get suspended players back By Bill Rabinowitz, The Columbus Dispatch Tuesday, October 4, 2011 - 10:51 AM This was supposed to be the week Ohio State’s football team became whole again — or at least as complete as it could be without quarterback Terrelle Pryor. But the seemingly never-ending wave of player suspensions has struck again. The Buckeyes will get left tackle Mike Adams and defensive lineman Solomon Thomas back from five-game suspensions for a game Saturday at Nebraska. But they will still be without running back Daniel Herron and receiver DeVier Posey. All four — plus Pryor, who left for the NFL in the offseason — were suspended for their roles in the memorabilia-for-tattoos scandal, which broke in December. Now, Herron, Posey and starting right guard Marcus Hall will miss at least one more game for another violation of NCAA rules. The three are suspended for accepting inflated paychecks for their work at the business of Cleveland-area booster Robert “Bobby” DiGeronimo. It’s another black eye for Ohio State’s reputation. The effect Saturday could be significant. Ohio State was counting on Posey, Herron and Adams to bolster an anemic offense. The Buckeyes are averaging only 308 yards, 108th out of 120 Football Bowl Subdivision teams, and are 91st in scoring. October 4, 201113 yr You heard it here first. Either Kenny Guitton or Taylor Graham are about to have a Troy Smith esque emergence from the bottom of the depth chart.
October 9, 201113 yr This team isn't going anywhere fast with Joe B. and Luke Fickle and not to mention the O.C still with this program :\ ... this is just downright frustrating can't wait for a new coach that's used to being an successful coach other then in rec. football smh.
October 9, 201113 yr why is this horrific Q.B still in the game for see if someone else gives us a better chance. Deep ball thrown out of bounce once again WOW.
October 9, 201113 yr What a b.s personal foul called and horrible spot of the ball :\ seems like if its not us beating us its either the coach, play calling, or penalties.
October 9, 201113 yr Well, that first half was surprisingly enjoyable. 20-6 halftime lead. 27-6 lead halfway thru the third quarter. Then Braxton Miller gets the ball stripped in Nebraska territory. The Cornhuskers quickly score a TD. Miller goes down with an ankle injury on the next drive (and does not return in the game). And then Nebraska reels off three more TD's for 28 unanswered points. Nebraska wins 34-27. The Buckeyes were without starters WR Posey, RB Herron and OL Hall for reasons posted earlier. Herron and Hall are eligible starting with next week's game at Illinois. But Posey was given another five game suspension. The long season continues.
October 9, 201113 yr Soviet era SCUD missiles had a better chance of hitting a target than Bauserman does.
October 9, 201113 yr You heard it here first. Either Kenny Guitton or Taylor Graham are about to have a Troy Smith esque emergence from the bottom of the depth chart. I'm gonna go ahead and stick with this
October 9, 201113 yr I was very pleased with Miller's play last night before he was injured. He's still very raw, but he showed signs that he can be a legitimate option for the program moving forward. That said, if he's not 100%, they have to give Guiton or Graham a shot.
October 15, 201113 yr This team is boring and frustrating to watch. If Braxton Miller can't throw the ball due to his ankle sprain then get him out of there until it heals. Running the ball on every down on the first drive might work but now they're just stacking the box, I can't wait until we clean office with the whole and I mean whole coaching staff.
October 15, 201113 yr Boom Herron really makes a difference its really good seeing him back now if we can just complete a couple of passes I'll be a happy camper
October 15, 201113 yr Wow this play calling just cost us points why run 2 consectutive times when the first down is in long distance then turn around and punt smh.
October 15, 201113 yr Hey! They've thrown one pass (for a TD) and they're still going to win this game. I'll take it...
October 15, 201113 yr Nice win by the players now time to get ready for them Badgers at the Shoe, LET'S GOOOOOO BUCKKKKKKSSSSSS !!!!!!!!
October 15, 201113 yr Ohio State 17 - Illinois 7: That might have been the "game of the year" in college football - if you really like running and punting. :-D The Buckeyes only complete one pass in the entire game (although it was for a TD). Illinois commits three turnovers in the second half - OSU commits none. And that was the difference in the game. Like the late Al Davis said, "Just Win Baby".
October 30, 201113 yr Since the website was down yesterday, let me be the first to applaud the Buckeyes on their unexpected 33-29 upset of the Wisconsin Badgers last night in the Shoe. If you missed it, here's how it went: Wisconsin started strong and scored first to go up 7-0. After that both defenses clamped down but OSU managed a FG to go into halftime down 7-3. Boom Herron woke up OSU's offense with two big runs on their first possession and OSU grabs the lead 10-7. A blocked Wisconsin punt gave OSU the ball at the one yard line. OSU scored to go up 17-7. OSU gave the Badgers a brake on a muffed punt catch that was recovered by Wisconsin at the OSU 27. Wisconsin scored a TD to tighten OSU's lead 17-14 at the end of the third quarter. The fourth quarter opened with 57-yard run by Boom Herron. And OSU's offense extended their lead to 26-14 on a FG and a 44-yard TD run by QB Braxton Miller with 4:39 left. With Wisconsin's back against the wall, they mounted their late comeback on a series of big plays by QB Russell Wilson. Wilson led the Badgers on back-to-back scoring drives of just four plays and Wisconsin regained the lead 29-26 with only 1:18 left. Jordan Hall returned the kickoff to the OSU 48. OSU had two timeouts and just over a minute left. OSU got a first down at the WISC 40 with under 30 seconds left. On the next play QB Miller drops back, eludes a rusher, scrambles to his right, looks like he will run to the sideline - but then stops short of the line-of-scrimmage at the 40 and heaves a pass to a wide-open Devin Smith in the end zone. The pass is complete for a 40-yard TD with 20 seconds remaining! OSU leads and wins the game 33-29! Big congratulations to Daniel "Boom" Herron who had 33 carries for 160 yards. And, of course, for freshman QB Braxton Miller for the game-winning play of the season and an mistake-free quality game.
October 30, 201113 yr Game recap with video from ESPN and a video of the on-field celebration after the game from the Columbus Dispatch: ESPN: Ohio State 33 - Wisconsin 29
November 1, 201113 yr Those looking forward to next year's matchup between Ohio State and Cincinnati will have to wait a little longer. Because of the current uncertainly in the Big East conference, Cincinnati approached Ohio State about postponing the scheduled 2012 game. Both schools agreed to move the 2012 game to 2018. However, the scheduled game between Ohio State and Cincinnati in 2014 remains on. Below is a link to the report from the Dispatch: Ohio State's 2012 schedule changed: Central Florida replaces Cincinnati because of Big East realignment

Below is a link to the report from the Dispatch: Ohio State's 2012 schedule changed: Central Florida replaces Cincinnati because of Big East realignment By 2014 they could have two Maple Heights alumni starting at WR. Cincy used to be one of my five least favorite college teams, now they are probably in my top five.
November 3, 201113 yr When is my man Ryan Shazier going to get his due run? Wasting a year of that kid's eligibility by playing him so sparingly may turn out to be Fickell's biggest mistake.
November 5, 201113 yr If you took the Hoosiers and the 27 points they were underdogs by, then you won! Fortunately, that wasn't enough for Indiana to pull off the upset in the Shoe. Ohio State came alive enough in the 4th quarter to post a 34-20 win.
November 11, 201113 yr Ohio State is enacting more self-improsed penalties after receiving an NCAA letter on Nov. 3 regarding NCAA rules violation involving booster Bobby DiGeronimo. You can get the details below at the article link from The Dispatch: NCAA hits Ohio State with big charge: Booster issue prompts school to cut five football scholarships Maybe I'm getting "NCAA rules violation fatigue". Or maybe it's because I'm so disgusted by the events in the Penn State scandal. But it's getting more and more difficult for me to be "outraged" by these "rules violations". I know that some OSU players did violate NCAA rules. And I know that Coach Tressel tried to cover up for them. And these players and Tressel have paid the price for this. And I know that OSU as a program will have to take its medicine from the NCAA for these rules violations. Fine. But when I see these rules violations in the context of what's happening with other NCAA-regulated football programs, I'm far less outraged. Say OSU gets "Penalty X" for a player getting a hundred dollars or a thousand dollars in a way that violates NCAA rules. Then what penalty does Miami get for its players getting prostitutes provided to them? And what penalty does Penn State get for covering up "40 counts of criminal sexual abuse with children over the course of 15 years"! Some of which occurred in school athletic facilities! I'm just saying that there are many programs that have as bad - or far worse - NCAA rules violations than Ohio State. And then there are some schools like Miami and Penn State that go beyond NCAA rules violations into actual real-life criminal activity. What will they get from the NCAA?
November 11, 201113 yr Unfortunately, probably about the same thing osu gets. According to posey and his lawyer they have proof in paperwork that he was not overpaid for his summer job but they state that the ncaa has told them they have no interest in looking at it. That tells me that the ncaa already has their mind made up on what they want to do with osu. Hopefully I'm wrong but I feel in the ncaa's mind these circumstances are the same as penn st,miami, or usc in which reggie bush's family had a 350,000 home bought for them. I mean even north carolinas issues were more severe last year and osu has already been punished more. I feel they are attempting to make an example out of the bucks.

I think the recent events at Penn State illustrate how chicken-stuff the Ohio State violations really were. Tressell basically got fired for not telling the NCAA that some of his players broke the type of rule that, quite frankly, likely gets broken every day. All the organization did was not report it.

Somebody in the NCAA has a grudge against the program, and quite likely against Tressell in particular.
November 12, 201113 yr God, #26 is aweful on defense, so far i've counted atleast 5 missed tackles from him could be more if I'm not mistaken, and its not even halftime yet. I'm not too comfortable with our offense having to win this game for us, but by the way the D is playing its not to far fetched.
November 12, 201113 yr Ugh, this is having upset all over it :\, and I hate this feeling. Time for our D to make a play.
November 12, 201113 yr The play calling is horrible, thank goodness Braxton Miller can make a couple of ppl miss, his arm has been horrific today D: ... LET'S GO BUCKS!!!! Pull this win out.
November 12, 201113 yr Wow, Travis Howard is soft. Crucial 3rd down for Purdue and he brushes the QB on his shoulder. Looks like its over smh
November 12, 201113 yr Horrible play call on another crucial 3rd down for our D, just plain horrible coverage. This whole coaching staff shouldn't be back next year. Lose to ******* Purdue ? Like really, the same Purdue team that is only half way decent, and that's being nice. I feel like crying and committing a crime :\
November 12, 201113 yr 3rd and 12 in OT, all you need to do is hold them - and we had double coverage in the back? I don't believe that Purdue receiver was that much faster, we just missed the play. Unbelievable loss (and with Penn. State's loss it's going to be a tough afternoon.....)
November 12, 201113 yr Terrible, disappointing loss. So much for sneaking into the Big Ten title game. For some odd reason the Bucks always struggle in West Lafayette.
November 14, 201113 yr ^It was. Yep. Weird. But despite all that. It was one blocked extra-point that prevented us from celebrating a come-from-behind victory on that magnificent pass from Braxton Miller to Jordan Hall.
November 14, 201113 yr Buckeyes probably lose their two remaining games, Fickell, Gene Smith and entire staff gets cleaned out. Who comes in next year to coach? I keep hearing Urban Meyer but I have no idea if he wants to coach again. He has health issues. OSU would likely make him the highest paid coach in NCAA, but does that guarantee a winning program? What other names are out there that have Ohio connections? Tressel was such a one in a million coach, in that he came up from a small program, YSU, and stepped into OSU and immediately handled the enormous tasks of managing the recruiting, alumni, press functions and game planning. That's such a big step up from most any other program, let alone a much smaller school
November 19, 201113 yr Buckeyes probably lose their two remaining games, Fickell, Gene Smith and entire staff gets cleaned out. Who comes in next year to coach? I keep hearing Urban Meyer but I have no idea if he wants to coach again. Reports are that Urban Meyer has agreed to come coach next year as long as the NCAA sanctions aren't worse than expected. Also, that Fickell will move back to his old job and presumably Gene Smith stays on because he would be the guy that hired Meyer. They're also throwing out there that Meyer would try and recruit Spielman and Herbstreit among others to join his staff. Which just sounds crazy especially for Herbstreit given his reasons for moving out of the state. However, Herbstreit apparently recently said he would leave TV to coach and specifically mentioned working for Meyer. Basically it could end up being the highest paid coaching staff ever in addition to what is guaranteed to be a top 5 level salary for Meyer.
November 19, 201113 yr Those reports of Urban Meyer agreeing to a deal are totally unfounded internet rumors. Having said that, I hope it's true and he is the next coach. Fickell's been good for a season, but he's in over his head. He should go be a head coach at a MAC school, continue to build his resume, then come back and take over in another 10-12 yrs

Herbstreit did move out of state but he never sold his house in C-bus....Also the internet rumors aren't totally unfounded. UM3 will be the next coach at tOSU.
November 19, 201113 yr It's also very doubtful LF stays on Urban's staff. He'll probably be offered the Akron or another MAC like head coaching position.
November 19, 201113 yr I love how "Philly" Corey Brown faked that injury after dropping that long pass thrown to him as he seems to do all the time lmaooo
November 19, 201113 yr Buckeyes rely on the big play too much. They seem incapable of putting together a 12-14 play 70-80 yard drive which chews up the clock. If they don't get a big play, they kill it with penalties or a fumble or dropped pass...
November 20, 201113 yr That was a tough loss. Puts even more pressure on next week's game at Michigan to keep from going 6-6.
November 20, 201113 yr Another week, another disappointing loss. I'm a little ashamed that I actually let myself believe that this team had a chance to salvage the season after the Wisconsin win. Bring on the... URBAN MEYER OHIO STATE era!
November 21, 201113 yr anybody see any conceivable way that OSU can beat Michigan this weekend that doesn't involve the Michigan team buses getting lost before the game? Michigan is playing very well right now and OSU is not. Also dealing with some injuries. This one could get ugly, I'm calling Michigan by 20+. I'll go with Michigan 37-16.
November 21, 201113 yr The lines at 7.5.....Bucks should keep it w/in 7-10pts if they have any pride left.
November 21, 201113 yr Have you watched Michigan play lately? They are very explosive and can beat teams equally with the pass or the run. Toussant has reinvigorated that offense and taken the pressure of Denard Robinson to make every play himself. Michigan has scored over 30 eight times now and been held to less than 28 once. No way can OSU hang with them in a track meet.
