4th and 1 on Florida's 29...that was the killer.

My bad.Urban Meyer was born bred in Ashtabula.....I had msiread this bit in

I wasn't talking about Urban Meyer...I was talking about the Florida running back who played HS fball with Reading HS.  BTW, he turned down Tressel and the Bucks for Florida!

Because he wasn't interested in playing second fiddle to Clarrett (same recruiting class).  Who'd thunk that would come back to haunt OSU 4 years later.

So, I went to the game, wouldn't spend the $1500 to get a ticket, but I was there with 10,000 fans across the street with warm bud light............it still hurts

The juice bar, for example, will come in handy when the players are . . . thirsty.

And yet, half the halls on campus need updating (talking to YOU, Smith, Celeste, Lord, Brown, and Independence Hall).

A $20 million palace where only a handful of student-athletes hang out all day doesn't sound like the vision new OSU President Dr. Gordon Gee recently expressed for integrating the athletic department into the university.

The above quote sums up my feelings perfectly.  Now, Gee's not going to go to war with Tressel before he even officially takes charge, but if Tressel thinks that--in the larger scheme of things--his little fiefdom is more important than the 2.5 billion dollar fundraising campaign that's kicking off this year or the statewide restructuring of higher education by Stickland and Fingerhut upon which Gee is expected to have a huge influence, he's dreaming.  Should push come to shove, I have absolutely no reservations about who the Board of Trustees or Strickland and Fingerhut will support.

LMAO!

You know, the Jack LaLanne Power Juicer is only 2 easy payments of $49.90 (plus shipping and handling).  This would have been quite a savings for the university.

Tickets for this Saturday's game against Akron are available for public buy right now at www.hangonsloopy.com.

Dish just added the Big Ten Network today, so I guess I can watch the game!

NW = OWNED

I was at the game again Saturday and it was ugly for the Wildcats.  Total of -5 yards rushing!!

I was there also.. quite the boring game really, score is deceiving.  A big chunk of people left at half, then more in the 3rd.

How the HELL does an OSU football player, let alone a QB, have to get a hooker, YOU HAVE 30,000 WOMEN AT YOUR SCHOOL.. FIND ONE OF THE MANY EASY GIRLS!! URGH!!

Exactly.

I'd love to see West Virginia University join the Big Ten.  I think PSU and WVU wold be a good little rivalry since Morgantown is close to PA.  BTW, did you know that Joe Pa in Russian means bullsh!t?  It's spelled differently of course, but my Russian co-worker always gets a kick out of hearing the sports commentator say Joe Pa on TV, lol.

PSU-WVU used to have a pretty intense rivalry before PSU joined the Big 10.

After a Saturday of top teams losing and OSU beating Minnesota, Ohio State finds itself ranked 4th.

I don't know about OSU, but there's no way in hell Wisconsin is anywhere near the 5th-best team in the country.

Wisconsin has proven grasscat right by losing at Illinois.  They sure won't be ranked #5 next week.

Solid 23-7 win at Purdue yesterday.  GO BUCKS!

OSU moves up to #3 in the polls after USC's embarassing loss to Stanford on Saturday.  GO BUCKS!

P.S.:  UC is #15 or #17 (depending on the poll)

I still think the buck will lose to Penn St and/or Michigan.  I hope I'm wrong.

48-3... O-H?

o-UC-h!

Another yawn fest at the Shoe..

48-3... O-H?

I-O!

The Buckeyes are #1 now

Quite an eventful day for sports in Ohio yesterday.

  • Cleveland Indians win game 2 of the ALCS

  • Cincinnati Reds hire Dusty Baker as team manager

  • The Ohio State Buckeyes football team will be ranked #1 in the nation after LSU and California are defeated in upset losses.  GO BUCKS !

I don't see the Buckeyes being able to compete with the South Florida Bulls in a hypothetical National Championship matchup.

Thats one of the teams I think the buckeyes would have an easy time with, Their defense would overwhelm south florida. Different story with say lsu or oklahoma.

The Buckeyes now gear up for a tough five-week stretch run against Michigan State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan.

No better way to defend their #1 ranking than to run the table on the Big Ten.

Here's what the Bucks face in order to run the table in the Big Ten and to make the National Championship game.  One loss and no championship game.

  • Michigan State -- The Spartans not only are improved, they also want to repeat history, going back to 1998 when they upset top-ranked Ohio State in Ohio Stadium.

  • at Penn State -- The Buckeyes are 1-2 in Beaver Stadium under coach Jim Tressel, winning 21-20 in 2003. They were sacked 17-10 in a memorable "White-out the night" game in 2005.

  • Wisconsin -- Tressel's Buckeyes are 1-3 vs. the Badgers, his only losing record against a Big Ten team. The win came during Ohio State's 2002 national title run.

  • Illinois -- Last year, the Illini had just two wins in their first nine games before scaring the top-ranked Buckeyes. Most of those Illini players are back, and they already have five wins.

  • at Michigan --Tressel is 5-1 vs. the Wolverines. But rumors persist this could be coach Lloyd Carr's last home game. It will be a great chance for the disappointing 2007 Wolverines to leave their mark.

Ohio State 24, Michigan State 17

Unnerved but still unbeaten

Buckeyes build 24-0 lead, then hold on against Spartans

One win down, four wins to go!

Next week, Ohio State's dreams of an unblemished campaign will fade into black reality in the hostile confines of Happy Valley.

PennState_Logo4.jpg

hopefully penn(is) state's ancient coach will come away unscathed from any stray osu players crashing the sidelines.

How embarrassing it shall be when young Jim Tressel and his top-ranked Luckeyes fall to a Nittany Lion squad led by an octogenarian head coach.

I hope we all can be as active, physically healthy and mentally sharp as Joe Paterno is at age 80.

we'll im half way there!

I would like to point out that the OSU defense allowed ZERO touchdowns today... defense wins championships :)

I see the trash talking has begun already for the OSU-PSU match up.

Go right ahead PSU fans, Ohio State's used to it.  Such is the burden of being the Number One college football team in the country.  GO BUCKS!

:wink2:

When was the last time penn st. was ranked #1?  :wtf:

All I have to say is enjoy the fact a #1 team is playing in pennsylvania, It only happens when a visiting team comes  :yap:...

I don't think the Buckeyes are playing like a Number 1.

With UM and OU being unbeaten, one of the two - perferably UM - needs to lose a game prior to their meeting.    I think we'll beat PSU & Wisc., but I'm worried about Ill and not sure which UM team will show up.

Hopefully the Buckeyes will be in the national championship game again, but a Rose Bowl win is good for me as well.

Ohio State "whites out" the Nittany Lions 37-17

Nice win!  GO BUCKS!
