I don't think the Buckeyes are playing like a Number 1.

 

With UM and OU being unbeaten, one of the two - perferably UM - needs to lose a game prior to their meeting.    I think we'll beat PSU & Wisc., but I'm worried about Ill and not sure which UM team will show up.

 

Hopefully the Buckeyes will be in the national championship game again, but a Rose Bowl win is good for me as well.

Ohio State Fans Attacked While At Penn State

 

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Buckeye fans are outraged by an unprovoked attack on OSU fans at Penn State that was caught on tape.  An Ohio State fan walking on the Penn State campus before the Buckeyes' game against the Nittany Lions was pelted with a beer bottle and taunted by hundreds of students, NBC 4 Amy Basista reported.

 

The video, found on YouTube.com, shows several Ohio State fans walking through a party when suddenly they seem to be attacked. In the video, you can hear people yelling obscenities at the group and then someone throws a beer bottle at the Ohio State fans.

I could have gone to this game but that's exactly why I didn't go.

In all fairness, our football team did beat up their football team!

Mark another team off the list in the quest to return to the National Championship.  The Bucks face Illinois next Saturday and then the big Michigan game.

It's Really Important that the Buckeyes don't look past Illinois, who played them very tough last year.  I don't expect Tressel to let that happen...

Yeah, I don't think OSU is looking past any games this year after what happened with Florida in the Championship.  This team is on a mission.

The best part of that game was after it was over, the shot of the Michigan students crying.

Coaches Jim Tressel and Lloyd Carr are walking down the beach talking about the rivalry between Ohio State and Michigan. As they are walking, Lloyd trips over something in the sand. Upon closer inspection it turns out to be a genie's lamp. "Who disturbs me?" asked the genie. Jim and Lloyd both say they did. "You will each get one wish," said the genie. Lloyd offers to go first. "I want an impenetrable wall built around the entire state of Michigan so that none of those stupid Ohioans can ever get in. I want it as far down into the ground as it is high, and I want it to be completely sealed in so that we can finally have our peace!" The genie grants the wish to Lloyd and he is instantly whisked away to his new paradise. The genie now tells Jim he'll grant him one wish. Jim says, "Fill it up with water."

^ Funny stuff.  This could have happened after the Carr/Tressel post game handshake.  I know Carr must've been seriously bummin.  But his "handshake" with Tressel made a Bill Belichick handshake look like a warm embrace!  Not that Tressel cared though.

 

Carr had 13 years with UM, just like Cooper had his 13 years with OSU.  And Carr did get a national championship for UM.  But he found out what Cooper found out - that if you can't win the OSU/UM game and if you struggle in the bowl games, your job's in jeopardy.

 

Anyway here's the newest BCS rankings with Ohio State at #5 and keeping hope alive.

How unfortunate.... OSU hasn't even had a real season... not to start a flame war, but they played Horizon League member YSU, MAC teams Kent State and Akron, and the highest ranked team they played and beat was Mich & Wisc @ #21. That doesn't even hold a flame to UC's accomplishments this season.

 

I guess it's just frustrating because UC gets so little respect. Granted, they should NOT have lost to Pitt and UofL....

 

OSU is just lucky to have benefited from years of tradition...and they are in the Big TelEveN.

Oh c'mon, you are being ridiculous. Of course Ohio State has not had the most difficult schedule, but they are a very good team. Are you forgetting that UC's non-conference schedule has also included three cupcakes?

Two big games on Saturday will determine whether Ohio State plays in the Rose Bowl Game or the BCS Championship Game. 

 

West Virginia plays Pitt.  Missouri plays Oklahoma.  Either WV or Missouri needs to lose for Ohio State to be bumped up to #2 in the BCS standings. 

 

WV losing to Pitt seems extremely unlikely.  But Missouri losing to OU would be easy to see happen (especially since its has happened once this year!).
