June 8, 200619 yr good news for downtown..this will bring in a lot of money as the OSU football-crazed fans travel into Cleveland. OSU football to play in Cleveland in '09 11:21 a.m. From staff reports Ohio State and Toledo have signed an agreement to play a football game at Cleveland Browns Stadium in 2009. OSU athletic director Gene Smith said today that the Buckeyes and Toledo are locked in on a two-game series. The second game will be held in Columbus in 2011, Smith said. The last time Ohio State played a game in Cleveland was 1991, when the Buckeyes stopped Northwestern, 34-3, at Municipal Stadium. More at www.cleveland.com

June 8, 200619 yr Ohichigan!?? My Buckeye friends always told me it was "F * ichigan". Good news about the game. Cleveland Browns' Stadium needs to host more events. The Greater Cleveland Sports Commission is making an effort get more stadium dates filled. This event, the recent soccer game, and the high school playoffs last year are a good start. I've heard discussions about an annual college football game between one of the service academies and a MAC school. Maybe we'll even have a Browns playoff game in the future (I'm an optimist).
June 8, 200619 yr I thought the lawsuit was the other way around, with OU suing OSU for having only "Ohio" on several uniforms. Off to google....... ..........back from google GIVE & TAKE Ohio U. and Ohio State U. Settle Trademark Tussle Over 'Ohio' A crisis of identity is ending as Ohio State and Ohio Universities settle their long-standing trademark dispute over the word "Ohio." Lawyers for the two institutions had wrangled over use of the word on merchandise and in marketing since 1997, when Ohio State complained to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Two years earlier, the office had allowed Ohio University to register a trademark for the word "Ohio," and O.U. had asked O.S.U. to limit its use of the word.

September 7, 200618 yr I'm gonna be in Cincy Saturday night when the Buckeyes play. What are some good places to watch the game??? I'm looking for a place that will be full of fans and lively!
September 7, 200618 yr Gameday Cafe is my favorite sports bar in downtown. Good food. Plenty of TV's. Pool table. Cornhole. ;) Good musicians. Good layout.
September 7, 200618 yr ^Allow me to express an outsider's perspective on "cornhole": "Excuse me; did you just say 'Cornhole??!!!'" That is all.
September 7, 200618 yr ^LOL. My uncle had a set with a V-shaped pattern painted around the hole, I've always found that funny.
September 7, 200618 yr ^Allow me to express an outsider's perspective on "cornhole": "Excuse me; did you just say 'Cornhole??!!!'" That is all. Cornhole busted out in Baton Rouge with the advent this football season. Last year I might have seen 2 cornhole games...all year, last week I saw 6 cornhole games within a 200 yds walk amongst LSU tailgaters.
September 7, 200618 yr its fun seeing cornhole across the nation. We should start a thread, then plot on maps where the game has been sighted.

September 8, 200618 yr gold42, I forgot about Mulligan's. Mulligan's is also a very good pick, but so is Gameday Cafe. If Mulligan's is closer, I'd go with that. Good beer selection and awesome burgers! Try the Christian Morlein! ;)
September 8, 200618 yr Sorry, there are NO OSU fans here in Cincy.....only UC fans!!! Cheer Cincinnati, Cincy will win. Fight to the finish, never give in. ... You do your best boys, We'll do the rest boys, Onward to Victory!!!!
September 8, 200618 yr Actually, there are quite a few OSU fans in Cincinnati (albeit suburban). "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
September 8, 200618 yr Well, I gotta say ... the OSU shirts are definitely out today. They're taking over Cincinnati.
September 9, 200618 yr As an Ohio State fan, I have found the Rookwood BW3's (I can't get used to the Buffalo Wild Wings name) usually has plenty of fans rooting for the Bucks.
September 9, 200618 yr Well, the OSU fans turned out for the Reds game tonight. They made a giant "Red and White O" with their shirts in the bleachers section and cheered "O-H-I-O" ... it was cute.
September 9, 200618 yr Well, Cincinnati is in Ohio, ya know... "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
September 10, 200618 yr GO BUCKS!!! :drunk: ___________________________________________________________________________________________ AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Before the Longhorn band played a somber "Eyes of Texas," Ohio State offensive lineman Kirk Barton ran to the sliver of the stadium filled with Buckeyes fans and flashed the Hook 'em Horns sign with both hands aimed down. The message was clear: Ohio State showed the defending national champions who's No. 1. In the first regular-season matchup of No. 1 vs. No. 2 in a decade, quarterback Troy Smith riddled Texas for 269 yards passing and two touchdowns, leading the Buckeyes to a 24-7 win Saturday night. The victory keeps the Buckeyes (2-0) in perfect position for a run to a national title. Keep winning and they should stay right where they are. September 10, 200618 yr What are these "Bucks"? Are they a sportsmens club of some sort? Did they triumph in a match? If so, bully, I say! Bully and huzzah!
September 11, 200618 yr Ended up going to the BWs in Kenwood because Mulligan's was too damn crowded. My fiance and I have gone to that BWs before and it is usually dead, but it was packed with OSU fans this time!
September 11, 200618 yr LMAO!!!!! This is not worthy of a topic! Boooooo OSU!! Cry me a river. Even your other Bearcat friend is rooting for OSU. Support all your state schools! That is, unless you are from Kentucky... "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
September 11, 200618 yr hell yeah its worthy of a topic. Ohio hasn't received this much national press since the last election. Its a huge win for the buckeyes and 40 fires were set in Columbus!

September 11, 200618 yr Cry me a river. Even your other Bearcat friend is rooting for OSU. Support all your state schools! That is, unless you are from Kentucky... I was kidding more so than anything, but I am not going to stroke OSU's ego any more than what it already is. I get tired of hearing how OSU thinks that they are sooooo great. I just don't see why the whole state has to jump on board the OSU bandwagon. Sorry I'm true to my colors! I am a hometown boy I love ALL the Cincy teams (I even root on XU when they're not playing UC). I am not a Cbus sports fan....thats all OSU is to me, Columbus University, and I WILL NOT cheer for them!
September 11, 200618 yr Uncle Rando, I'm mostly with you, except for this part: I get tired of hearing how OSU thinks that they are sooooo great. I just don't see why the whole state has to jump on board the OSU bandwagon. OSU is currently the top-ranked team in the entire nation, in a sport that commands the abject adoration of tens of millions of fans across the country. This year, they truly are "sooooo great" - I mean, nobody is better than them, and tons of people are trying to be. Definitely a big deal. Plus there isn't any in-state competition for them - makes it really easy to cheer them on, even if the Buckeyes aren't really your thing...

I am a hometown boy I love ALL the Cincy teams (I even root on XU when they're not playing UC). I am not a Cbus sports fan....thats all OSU is to me, Columbus University, and I WILL NOT cheer for them! Let's see...what state is CINCINNATI in again? It isn't about Columbus. It isn't about Cincinnati. It isn't about whatever city you want to say. Ohio State is a STATE school and last I checked, Cincinnati was in Ohio. There are many Bearcat fans at Ohio State and there are many Buckeye fans at UC. It isn't about being an isolationist, as Ohio should support ANY state school we can (talking Wright State, OSU, UC, Bowling Green, Ohio, Kent, etc). Granted, I'm not so blind to see OSU fanatics can be quite moronic and almighty. But someone from the state of Ohio should atleast see that with a name like OHIO STATE (or Ohio University) is not about "cities" but simply about state unity.
