December 9, 201014 yr At first I was like "MnM" but then it clicked: Eminem. Gotcha. Yeah, agreed. Yeah, I couldn't remember how to spell his name. I knew it wasn't M&M like the candy, so I just guessed.
December 9, 201014 yr Wow, a lot of you guys are just weird! Anyhow... -I can't stand Quentin Tarrantino...total hack. -I think reading Shakespear is absolute torture...he's another hack. -Entertainers who preach politics (Eddie Veddar!) are totally annoying. It's like, singing like crap and being famous doesn't give you the right to lecture anyone. STFU. -After a few drinks, I'd probably "get with" Hillary Clinton -When I was in college I started a Baywatch fan club Well, right now I feel glad that nobody on this forum would recognize me...except for mrnyc maybe. I think my secrets are safe.
December 9, 201014 yr Yeah, I was too harsh on Elvis. I admit it. There's definitely some Justin Bieber in there, though. For the record, I don't actually know any Justin Bieber music.

December 9, 201014 yr I never got why Seinfeld was so popular. The show sucks. I know the words to a Katy Perry song. *shudders* The Beatles were overrated in my opinion and Kurt Cobain even more so. Hell, so was Elvis! I drove my car to things I could walk to. I ordered delivery at pizza place across the street from where I was staying. I don't get Chelsea Handler. Shopping is for losers! TJ Maxx and Bloomingdale's, same thing to me. I cannot stand Indian food. I've never seen an episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia nor The Sopranos and I don't care to. Your turn. 1. I grew up surrounded by "Seinfeld" fanatics. Some members of my family were (still are) obsessed with it. I used to like some of the episodes, but I've grown sick of the show. It may have been very relevant in the 90's, but it has not aged well IMO. I can't relate to any of the characters. I'll take classic "Simpsons" over classic "Seinfeld" any day of the week. I also was a huge "Buffy" and "X-Files" fan back in the day. 2. Beatles are overrated, but still decent. I like Nirvana and grunge. I don't think Nirvana was ever the best though. I was much bigger into Soundgarden and Alice in Chains. But my heart has always been in the post-grunge era of 90's hard rock. 3. It's American. 4. It's American. 5. I do not like her- just tearing people down in a very uncreative fashion. I don't think any of her stuff is funny or original. She reminds me of an aging alcoholic sorority girl. 6. Shopping is for rich people! I agree TJ Maxx > everything. The fanciest place I go is Dillard's, but only when they have giant sales. 7. Disagree on this one. Indian food is outstanding when done right. -My blasphemy is I hate the Black Keys. People think you're anti-Ohio if you don't like them, but I just don't get their appeal. It's that damn "Tighten Up" song that is on the radio all the time! -I also hate Four Loko. I have no idea what the appeal is and why it's so newsworthy. I'm growing out of touch with my generation. -I can't agree on hating Katy Perry though. She doesn't seem like the sharpest/most talented tool in the shed, but she is gorgeous. She's probably famous for her looks. That Ke$ha girl is pretty cute too (though filthy, just filthy). -I hate "Friends." I also don't understand why "The Office" is so popular. Hell, I don't get the appeal of modern TV in general. I can't think of any current shows I watch regularly other than "60 Minutes."

I can't believed you typed that! Dillards? UGH!
December 9, 201014 yr ^Around these parts, Dillard's is high end! That is shameful! You know us folk here in Cleveland do not like Dillards! I refuse to shop there.
December 9, 201014 yr ^Seriously, I don't know. Did they pay Lebron to go to Miami or something? *Edit: Just found out about Higbee's. That does suck horribly. If it's any consolation, Dillard's also took over the Lion Stores in Toledo. They must be a cancer in Ohio. I didn't know the history. Those old downtown department stores looked incredible.

December 9, 201014 yr ^Everyone has flattering and unflattering pictures. She looked good in this video: There is a youthful ignorance and vanity to her work. She represents a generation of hopeless optimists loaded with alcohol and ambition!

The pic isn't flattering because of the lighting. She looks good but she's definitely not my type (trashy).
December 9, 201014 yr ^Why don't Clevelanders like Dillard's? I don't know about Cleveland but I used to work next to Dillards and Macys so I'd go there just to kill time on my lunch break. I remember Dillards basically being Macys except with a worse selection and bad customer service. I'm no authority on clothing but I'd avoid Dillards too unless they've changed recently. I'm not really a fashion person, my last clothing splurge was at Kohls and Volunteers of America lol.
December 10, 201014 yr I also don't understand why "The Office" is so popular. Watch the original British version. It's a lot funnier. http://www.mainstreetpainesville.org/
December 10, 201014 yr Damn who ever brought up Katie Perry again, I was loading the dishwasher signng Califonia Girls.... They'll melt your Popsicle... Oh oh oh oh...

December 10, 201014 yr Easy because I'm so weird! :weird: 1. I hate Indian food as well. It hates me worse. 2. Despise Mexican food. There is truth in advertising..it tastes as good as it looks! Disgusting!!! 3. Almost never play music at home. There is enough noise pollution outside, I don't need it at home. 4. Have never seen Lost, Survivor or any of the other shows people rave about. Never intend to. TV is a huge waste of time. 5. I don't understand professional sports, or team loyalty. Unless you are out there playing, what difference does it make? 6. Wine does nothing for me. That is blasphemy here. I can't tell the difference between a $5 bottle and a $100 bottle. 7. Beer is beer. Micro breweries are so overhyped.....have been to lots of them, and think they are all PR and little delivery. 8. I think tattoos on women are trashy. One or two on men is okay with me, but more and it looks low life to me too. 9. Hate, hate, hate talking on the phone. I make excuses to end the call prematurely no matter who it is. 10. I hate clothes shopping for myself. I don't mind other types of shopping. 11. I have no idea who anyone is talking about when they start rambling on about celebrities.
December 10, 201014 yr I don't like beer, wine, or coffee. It's amazing how much these things are tied to cultural events, and therefore, I feel left out of.

December 10, 201014 yr If you guys don't like beer or wine, what about liquor/mixed drinks? I like some mixed drinks, though never know what to order. (whiskey sour--a cue from my grandfather--isn't a very trendy drink, and I don't like rum and Coke, which seems to be the standard at most social gatherings I do attend.) I will drink shots of liquor (never at a social event, but when a group of us go to a bar) because I don't really taste it; and I'm just trying to "adjust" my mood a little.
December 10, 201014 yr Vodka with cranberry or orange juice might be a good go-to drink. (With OJ it's a screwdriver, with cranberry it's a vodka-cranberry.) Also gin and tonic is a simple option.
December 10, 201014 yr Vodka with cranberry or orange juice might be a good go-to drink. (With OJ it's a screwdriver, with cranberry it's a vodka-cranberry.) Also gin and tonic is a simple option. Thanks for the suggestions. I might try a vodka-cranberry, but would feel a little weird ordering something called a screwdriver at, say, and AIA function. (maybe I just never noticed before...)
December 10, 201014 yr and as for cobain, i dont have to tell you that the only reason that tool and the grunge thing became popular was because the rednecks at mtv propped them up so they could keep avoiding playing hiphop. hey anyone remember mtv? it used to be somebody heh. Huh? Did you miss the endless replay of the Dr. Dre 'Let it Ride' or Snoop's 'What's my Name'? Ice Cube, Public Enemy, Run DMC, there were plenty of hip-hop...more mainstream hip hop, but still. come on maaan! dont give me that yo mtv raps copout! you know that!* *sorry i been talking like former mets manager wille randolph at press conferences lately
December 10, 201014 yr I like mixed drinks... but not many and not often. Nothing bothers me more than being in the same room with a sloppy drunk. Growing up we had spirits and beer at home, but it was a take it or leave it thing. I saw my parents tipsy only once, and that was when all the relatives came to town to celebrate. They went to Plank's and all got snockered while singing German songs. Luckily they walked back home, singing and stumbling their way down High St. Some of my Friends drink, and what I've noticed is that people become mean, aggressive and say things they would otherwise never say. It doesn't seem worth it. Coffee...could not do without it!! I'm an addict through and through.

December 10, 201014 yr I think Tea tastes like dirty water, Herbal Teas are even worse, Most Sodas are too sweet for me, I haven't had any alcohol in a couple years, I love coffee, but caffiene gives me a headache, I'm starting to get tired of drinking water

That sucks, I am not in the same boat but I feel for you all the same. You may have to change your name back to Grumpy if you don't find something else to drink :)
December 10, 201014 yr Oh come on...that "e" at the end is completely unnecessary! So pretentious. -I think reading Shakespear is absolute torture...he's another hack. I think I see the problem. Try reading Shakespeare instead. :-)
December 10, 201014 yr Oh that beer comment IS sacrilege... Do you think Nilla' wafers taste the same as home made cookies? Easy because I'm so weird! :weird: 7. Beer is beer. Micro breweries are so overhyped.....have been to lots of them, and think they are all PR and little delivery.
December 10, 201014 yr I also don't understand why "The Office" is so popular. Watch the original British version. It's a lot funnier. Ok, so add this to my cultural blasphemy. I can't imagine anyone less funny than Ricky Gervais. That guy sucks the funny out of the room. I don't get him at all, and I love british humor as a general rule. His whole shtick is "hey I'm an a$$hole". Yeah, you are.

December 10, 201014 yr ^That's because TW doesn't own a brewery Maaaahaaaw. I'm from a family of drinkers, my mother can "cocktail" and my father loves his Hardy cognac & red wine. IF TW did own a brewery I still wouldn't like beer.
December 10, 201014 yr Most Overrated Composer Ever: Gustav Mahler. There, I said it. http://www.mainstreetpainesville.org/

Perhaps he was just "playing himself." http://www.mainstreetpainesville.org/
December 10, 201014 yr I don't get Chelsea Handler. I had to google Chelsea Handler. I think she's a hoot! Wrong, but a hoot none the less.
