Posted January 4, 200619 yr I'm talking whitewater rafting/kayaking, rock climbing, spleunking(exploring caves), hiking, and other fun stuff. Not necessarily fishing or hunting. So where are the best places to do these things in Ohio? Is there even any whitewater in Ohio? What other fun outdoor stuff is there to do in Ohio? That PP Bridge climb in Cincy sounds really cool, so go ahead and suggest unconventional outdoor activities like that bridge climb if you know of any. Thanks Ohioans from an adventurous Michiganian (Michigander?)
January 4, 200619 yr Southeastern Ohio is a treasure trove of such things. The Hocking Hills, Shawnee National Forest (Lil Smokies), Wayne National Forest, and many of the state parks in that region offer any sort of terrain for your hiking adventures. There is white water rafting in Ohio, I believe, somewhere in Southeast Ohio and there are some canoe trips along the Little Miami River (between Cincinnati and Dayton). Yellow Springs alone has many nature-driven areas for hiking, fishing, swimming, biking, etc. The biketrails of Southwest Ohio are extremely impressive and extensive. There are also numerous rock-climbing venues all throughout southern Ohio (including one inside an old church in Dayton's Oregon District). You'll have to ask a northern Ohioan for tips up north.
