December 23, 201014 yr Does anyone have a photo of the Leader Building in Cleveland? December 24, 201014 yr Very appropriate, Clueless,Ohio. The ethnic newspapers have faded from a lot of people's consciousness, but they once were an important part of large, cohesive immigrant neighborhoods. A Macedonian Tribune has been published for a long time in Fort Wayne, but to my knowledge it has never had a building of its own. Huntington, Indiana - home of the Catholic weekly newspaper, Our Sunday Visitor, from 1925 until a new, larger facility was completed nearby in 1961. Father John Francis Noll, later to become Bishop of the Fort Wayne - South Bend Diocese, originated the paper in 1912 to combat anti-Catholic propaganda that was rampant among mainstream and independent publications at the time, and continued to be directly involved in its publication throughout his career.
November 23, 201212 yr Dan Quayle's father used to be editor of the Portsmouth Daily Times. fun facts

October 12, 201410 yr Springfield's News-Sun building is apparently endangered. The paper moved out last year and a local family purchased the building. A Save Our News-Sun Building Facebook group has formed due to many sources reporting it will be leveled for parking. From a News-Sun article about the building: The architectural firm Schultze & Weaver designed the News-Sun Building, an Italian Renaissance revival-style work. The company also designed several well-known Biltmore hotels and the Waldorf-Astoria hotel.

October 15, 201410 yr Completely missed this thread over the years. Love it, and love the architecture of most of Ohio's newspapers! Sadly, this is the last Sun Newspapers office in which I worked -- 5510 Cloverleaf Parkway, Valley View, OH.... But you all forgot the most famous newspaper headquarters of all -- The Daily Planet! November 9, 201410 yr Admittedly nothing historic looking about the building on the right (not sure when it was built--late 40's/50's?), but it was the home of the Painesville Telegraph (later called just the Telegraph), which dated back to 1822 and met its demise in the late 1980's. In its latter years a giant flashing red "T" was placed atop the transmission tower (or whatever that's called :wtf:), the base of which is visible here, and got a lot of quizzical responses from the general public, wondering what the f#!k is that big red "T"??!! The building is still abandoned and probably awaiting "development."  http://www.mainstreetpainesville.org/
