Posted December 22, 201014 yr Specifically near Lakewood, open early in the morning? I need to get donuts for work and would like suggestions!

December 22, 201014 yr Blackbird on Detroit/Sloane...not so much on the doughnuts, more on croissants, danishes. My favorite place.
December 27, 201014 yr Gypsy Beans at 65th & Detroit has awesome scones and bear claws and muffins, not sure if they have conventional donuts though.
December 29, 201014 yr If you're looking for fresh bread I'd recommend Breadsmith in Lakewood, corner of Detroit and West Clifton Blvd.
December 29, 201014 yr Best donuts i've ever had are unfortunately a bit of a way from the westside. Biagio's Donut Shop & Pizzeria in Eastlake. They also have some great pizza. Id recommend that place to anyone, very popular, surprisingly, being a locally owned business in a suburb and all. I dont know how people eat that dunkin donut crap. Ew
December 29, 201014 yr I'm originially from Eastlake and can say that Biagio's donuts, are by far, the best donuts EVER!!!! Good coffee too! And not too expensive! Can't say enough about them!
December 30, 201014 yr this isn't on the way to work (lake co right?) but jack frost donuts on the corner of pearl and fulton are killer
December 30, 201014 yr I've always wondered about that place, I drive by it sometimes on my way to work.

I agree with both of these posts. In fact, I had to visit Lake County this week, and Biagio's is a required stop whenever I'm up that way. So I got to start my morning off right the last couple mornings! :) Emmie is correct about the price being right. $6.39 for a bakers' dozen (under 50 cents per donut) and the pizza is 90 cents per slice. The only problem is that I tend to eat all the donuts way too fast.

Even their new raised price isnt bad. Now Im really craving both their donuts and pizza!

Still, most places with donuts far inferior to these charge around $8 for a (non-bakers') dozen (Amy Joy, I'm looking at you).
January 7, 201114 yr $6.39 for a bakers dozen?? The best doughnuts in NYC are from the Doughnut Plant (http://www.doughnutplant.com/) and they're almost $2.00 each (preposterous, I know)! It's not fair :x http://www.mainstreetpainesville.org/
January 7, 201114 yr In Ohio City, there's a good Hungarian bakery on 28th and Lorain, north side of the street, called Farkas, I believe. Don't know if they have donuts or not.
January 7, 201114 yr I don't think they have donuts, but they do have amazing napoleons and tortes. www.farkaspastries.com Colozza's in Parma makes some fine pastries too: http://www.colozzasbakery.com/page4.html
January 7, 201114 yr Speaking of bakeries, and apropos of all the recent Ukranian talk on here, I happened by a place on York near Pearl the other day called Ukranian Village. Has anyone been there?
January 11, 201114 yr On York near Pearl? Interesting. Ukrainian Village is actually an ethnic district the city is trying to promote on State Road between Snow and Pearl....
