Posted January 15, 201114 yr Percentage of people who take public transportation to work Cleveland: 59th at 12% Cincinnati: 74th at 10.1% It would be nice to see these numbers go up this census No other Ohio cities made the list which means they have under 7.8% at the best. http://www.statjump.com/lists/commuting-public-dp3c34tc.html Also Interesting to see that in Annual delays per traveler in 2008(Somewhat old information) Cincinnati: 27 Hours Cleveland 13 Hours Columbus 33 Hours Toledo 15 Hours Great compared to: Los Angeles with 72 hours Atlanta with 60 hours. Detroit with 54 hours

March 26, 201114 yr I would like to know how much ODOT spent on the LED signs on various interstates advertising "X minutes to X freeway". Is this information meaningful? How real time do these signs get? Were they mandated by the feds, or is this just another ODOT spending spree on things we don't need?
March 26, 201114 yr ^ They cost about 100,000 a sign. Dayton have had these a few months now. Cincinnati has had them over a decade now. They are apart of a traffic management system. Cincinnati is called Artimis. Im not sure what the name of the systems they have in Dayton and Columbus. ITS is coming to Cleveland as well.
March 27, 201114 yr Yes they are new to Cleveland--but we got them now! I just find it amusing in a town that hardly has serious traffic issues like NY, Boston or Chicago. Every one I drive by states the obvious: "Miles to I480 30-- Minutes 30" Thanks ODOT!
March 27, 201114 yr The signs allow drivers to have the latest trafific information so that they can alter course and take a different route if they choose. According to ODOT, the system is cost effective in terms of time saved from sitting in traffic.
