Enjoyed True Detective, Spartacus and Hanibal Season 1. Finally got the last season to Breaking Bad, it was right up there with The Wire for best ever.

Currently watching Californiacation and Dexter on Netflix. It's entertaining in a dumb way.

Spartacus & Rome briefly overlapped for me for awhile.

I was starting to get kinda weird...

'Ladyhawke' is on TV right now. Nothing like poorly executed midieval battle scenes set to contemporary 1980's instrumental background music

Didn't Rachel McLish make a really bad movie with that name?

Not sure.  I'm talking about the one with Matthew Broderick's acting prowess showcasing a fake English (I think?) accent :-o, Rutger Hauer as the emotionally conflicted hero , and Michelle Pfifer in her prime

This was a terrible movie!

I'm watching Project Runway.

I'm also watch Paris is Burning.  The guy I'm dating isn't from the States so when I talk about "back in the day" or use "old school" phrase and stuff he doesn't get it having grown up with no TV.

Did you like Wire or BB?

The Blacklist has returned, but so far I'm not all that excited.  If we're going to see a season long arc versus Berlin, that's going back to the arc model.  I'm less into that than I used to be (Ironically, "arc" pioneer Wiseguy remains one of my all time favorites) and Season One had the right combination of a compelling backstory (carried brilliantly by Spader) with a new villain/situation weekly.

Nothing will ever be as good as The Wire.

I've been watching The Strain.  The books were awesome.

I love, love, love how to get away with Murder!

It took me 20 something years, but I finally watched Twin Peaks and really liked it. Especially Kyle MacLachlan. Looking forward to the new stuff for sure.

Also wrapping up the 3rd season of The Killing on Netflix. There are some slight, David Lynch-esque elements to the show....some real twists and turns. The writers are crafty. It's been pretty good and I'd recommend it.

How to Get Away with Murder seems like it has some real potential. The first two episodes were great. The pacing is good, the actors are good, the characters are likable, etc. I'll definitely continue watching.

I'm currently rewatching the U.S. version of Shameless. I'd rank that up there with Friends as my favorite show of all time. If you haven't watched it you definitely should. The fifth season starts in January so I'll be all caught up rewatching it by the premier.

I still watch Walking Dead mostly out of curiosity and wishful thinking, and will watch this season, but something better change pacing wise. The good moments are too few and far between. The first season was so incredible and then the awful second season followed and then everything seemed to fall apart. Characters stopped developing nicely, the pacing is far too sporadic, and I've stopped caring about basically everyone in the show. Hopefully this season remedies some of that.

I'm planning on re-watching it.  It has been 20+ years since I saw an episode.  I remember the show kind of scaring me as a kid in how 'dark' it was..... and kept getting darker as the show went along.  I wonder if that was just the kid in me or whether it really was somewhat scary

Marathoning Gossip Girl with the girlfriend. It...passes the time, I guess.

Gotham

I was watching it late nights when I couldn't sleep. And yeah, I'd say it still is scary. At least when you're home alone at 2am.

I'm also watching Black-ish with Modern Family.

Both of these shows relate well to me as the characters in those families could be one of my relatives.

I didn't think I would like Black-ish as I not an Anthony Anderson fan.  He helped to ruin Law & Order for me.  The youngest daughter is a scene stealer!

Although two episodes could have been right out of my life.  But I love that I can watch and discuss with my father, grand father, brother and nephews/nieces.

Lawd.  I'm watching a marathon of SOAP.  This show is classic and was ahead of it's time.

i'm just watching sports and finding your roots on pbs -- until oct 27th:

i would like to see the new twin peaks too, but i can wait

Well one of my favorite movies is on.

and if the Giants lose, I get to be a total Monster in the office!

Thing 1 & 2 have no idea what they are in for.

I binge watched Outlander on Starz. The premise of the show was just what I was looking for at the time, so I probably enjoyed it a lot more than the average person. So rare to stumble across something that I was literally asking for. Unfortunately they have a ridiculous 6 month delay to the back half of their first season, but on the bright side it's based on a series of books.

So I just found out this is a thing, albeit a thing created under pretty bizarre circumstances.  It's pretty obvious the 'pilot' (if you want to call it that) was put together pretty quickly to meet this deadline. There's not a lot of production value, the acting is horrible, and they sidestepped Lews Therin killing himself and creating Dragonmount, and of course, creepy Billy Zane....But it does demonstrate that it's possible to put together a series for WOT, something I would very much like to see happen.

Now, if only Jordan's widow would get on board and allow someone to move ahead in earnest.

Anyone else watch Better Call Saul these past couple days?

I really enjoyed it!

Scorpion and the Blacklist, though I have iTunes subscriptions and watch neither "in real time".

I watched "Get On Up" last night.... the movie about James Brown.  Musically, it was extremely entertaining.  The movie spread out the performance of his hits nicely.  The actual script and production itself was a little too artsy-fartsy for my tastes..... too eccentric..... but I suppose that fits since it was James Brown.  It was just hard to follow because the timeline is constantly jumping around between the decades without any notice.

I must say that the man was one helluva performer.  I recall going to the RRHOF concert at Municipal Stadium when I was around 16 and he brought the house down.  Brown and Springstein were easily the two best performers IMO in a very crowded field.

Can you watch it on the net? I loved the character in Breaking Bad.

First episode was free on iTunes not sure if that is still true today

Thanks, found the network has them for free for like the next month!

Marathoned seasons 1-3 of American Horror Story, but good lord did the show take a fall in season 4. Having problems getting through it (on episode eight).

I'm watching Friends for the first time, now that it's on Netflix.

I've been watching Gotham.  I have enjoyed the show.  What makes it even cooler is that Corey Michael Smith is a graduate of Hilliard Darby High School and pretty much everyone I know from growing up seems to know him... everyone except me that is... one day!  LOL.

I think I would be more interested in Gotham if it didn't have Bruce Wayne in it at all.

It would be fascinating to see the world where Batman wasn't even in the conversation. Basically a criminal detective show based in Gotham City. That being said, I haven't seen the show, and I'm not a Batman fanboy, but just my general observation of what I think would make the show more interesting to me. I don't really have any interest in following young Bruce Wayne as a side plot to the story.

Does anyone else here watch The Americans on FX? It's some good quality television, with top-notch writing. The plot is a little complicated, and requires some knowledge of Soviet-US relations in the 1980s, but it's definitely worth watching. The third season just started a few weeks ago, and it's still as good as ever.

I was about to post it.  I'm about midway through the second season on iTunes.  It's kind of wierd almost rooting for the Soviets and I'm going to hate catching up and being stuck on one episode a week.

That's what I love about it... there is no true "good" or "evil." Just a lot of very human characters put in very difficult decisions. Brace yourself for the end of season 2 ;)

Empire - I love Cookie, but who doesn't?

Gotham -I love Fish Mooney and Edward Nigma

Fresh of the Boat - Jessica is a hoot and the Grandmother is shady!

Blackish - Jennifer Lewis is everything!

I'm going to start binge watching America Crime

He plays a very good psychopath.

He fooled me.  I thought he was too meek to play the character, but as his story has developed he's is starting to convince me he can play a dark and devious character.

Exactly! I like how you're seeing his descent, and motivations behind it.  I like watching him and the Penguin the most!

Other Space, an 8-episode sitcom on yahoo screen.  Sci-fi humor is hard to pull off but they do it well.  The first episode kinda sucks but it gets a lot better as it goes.  I want other people to watch so we get a second season!  It features Joel and Crow from MST3K, as well as Milana Veyntrub from the AT&T commercials.  She's amazing, I had no idea how funny she could be.

Party Down. Only 20 episodes, and they're all amazing.

One of my favorite shows. Incredible cast and writing.
