Hey fellow Ohio forumers, I'm back and got my first set of Ohio's ORIGINAL big city photos up. These were taken in July 2010 when I came to explore the city and see a couple of Tigers/Indians games.

These pictures are mainly of the DOWNTOWN area, so...

without further ado, here is CLEVELAND THE GREAT Phototour...

COMING SOON... night shots, University Circle, Little Italy, Cleveland Clinic, Warehouse District, Indians/Tigers games.

Thanks for the pics.

The second building is not the Allerton Apartments and the Public Hall is not the Convention Center.

Wow...Cleveland is looking great. Good work!

actually, halle berry was named after the halle department store

Nice pictures. Im sure glad they cleaned the Buckley building since then!

Great pics.  Btw, BP's North American headquarters is no longer in Cleveland.  The company packed up and moved to Chicago in the late 90s after it merged with Amoco.

I get the sense he knows that as  he referred to the building as 200 Public Square in the thread.

Some fixes needed on the captions, but the photos are very nice - thanks for posting :-)

Which ones did I mess up on?

Thanks, everyone. Downtown Cleveland is great!

I get the sense you missed his caption:  "200 Public Square (home to the worst Oil company, ever, British Petroleum)."  Should I have taken that to mean something different?

That BP was once HQ'd there.  His statement (granted the validity is in  question) is correct.  Is it really that important?  I dont believe  anyone would think BP is HQ in Cleveland since the company has been gone  for over a decade.  Can we move on as I dont want this thread to get  off track.

Great stuff!

No, it's not that important, which is why I find it interesting you felt so compelled to weigh in on my comment with a snarky remark.  Btw, during the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, NBC News showed file footage of 200 Public Square on every broadcast when discussing BP's corporate response.  Seems to suggest that at least someone was under the misimpression that BP was still headquartered here, just as our kind poster, Jaybird, appears to have been.

You hit it bang on. BTW, I've changed some of the captions on my pictures here recently to reflect the mistakes everybody has kindly told me about. ;)

Damn, OP.  Thanks for the shots.

Snarky??  Trust me that wasn't snarky.  OMG

Thanks for the tour of Downtown!

Thanks!  Looking forward to your next installments.

You covered a lot of territory! Thanks for the tour, and I look forward to more.

An awesome photo-document of DT Cleveland!  Worth repeated viewings--one cannot help but be impressed.  Thanks!

A quite comprehensive tour of downtown!

Interesting thing for me is that despite the great tour you have only photographed 2 (for all intents and purposes) of my top-10 downtown buildings...the Rose Bldg and the Standard Bldg.

Good to see the Standard in a photo thread.
