Whats your favorite/what do you like about them?

What do you think could be done to improve them?

Here are a view names of some parks and plazas to get you thinking...

Parks

Settlers Landing

Fort Huntington

Williard Park

Perk Park (How is that renovation going anyways?)

Voinovich Park

Plazas

Star Plaza

Plaza at Huron Pointe

Erieview Plaza (Outside the Galleria Foodcourt)

Library Reading Plaza

PNC Plaza

Federal Building

Smaller "Parks/Plazas"

Penton Media

Superior Building (Where the painting on the side of the building is)

Ill leave the mall out of this as well as pubic square since they really have their own threads, and its has already been discussed heavily.

My favorite: the Library Reading Plaza [i presume that's the name for the space I'm thinking of, that is between the 2 buildings in the main branch.

None of them, as far as I know, have a large space [the size of a football field] that is flat, contiguous, green space without trees or sidewalks.  :?

Having such a large, green space would be useful for multiple situations and give another reason for people to be downtown. If my friends and I want to meet in a central location to throw a frisbee or football, downtown works well for us as a central location. There's Kirkland park, next to 90, although one time that we went, it was windier than usual. and it's a bit off of downtown. -P  Unfortunately, there's nowhere else to go. Although not downtown, we just end up at Edgewater.

For the city, the cost would be probably be lower to maintain than other parks (that have equipment like playgrounds or trees to trim).

Where are downtown residents supposed to go if they want green space ?

Mall B used to be good for green space.  I would play frisbee there.  I've seen others play soccer there.  The public art on the mall obstructed those uses, though.  I agree the CPL reading garden is the best space Downtown.  Frankly it's one of the few not overrun by bums.

The Malls?  They have to be included.  My personal fav is probably Voinovich because I am a sucker for the waterfront.  Wade lagoon would be favorite in the whole city though I realize you are limiting this thread to downtown.

I feel like they should put benches outside of the superior building on that little grass lot and give some east 9th workers somewhere to sit during lunch in the summer. Star Plaza draws a nice crowd during warmer months and have cornhole and tuff out which gives it an active alive feel to it.

Definitely Voinovich Park. My favorite was when they used to show the movies on mall B during the summer  :-(. I don't remember what organization that was that used to put it together.
