tetsugaku no michi aka the philosophers path

the path gets its name due to nishida kitaro, one of japan's most famous philosophers, who was said to practice meditation while walking this route on his daily commute to kyoto university. today it’s pretty suburban, but still interesting. note that in the spring it’s one of kyoto’s most popular hanami or cherry blossom viewing walks.
