January 8, 200619 yr I can't wait to see a picture taken from the same vantage point once the new bridge is done.
January 9, 200619 yr The camera would have to pan to the right to be able to view the new bridge, the tower for which can be seen today. Visit construction webcams at: http://www.dot.state.oh.us/dist2/webcams/mrc/MRCwebcams.htm The bridge is slated to be done by the end of summer or early fall. January 21, 200619 yr I like driving on the Turnpike and as you cross the Maumee River you get a beautiful glimpse of the Toledo skyline off in the distance!
January 27, 200619 yr I like driving on the Turnpike and as you cross the Maumee River you get a beautiful glimpse of the Toledo skyline off in the distance! I love that view to. I've only been that way once and I knew DT Toledo was right up the Maumee so I just glanced over while driving to see if I could view the skyline at all and I wasn't disappointed. You can't see a lot of detail from that vantage point, but I kind of like looking at skylines from a distance; it's looks very imposing looking off in the distance and seeing towers almost coming out of nowhere.
January 28, 200619 yr the Skyway will overshadow nearly every bridge in the Midwest (excluding the Mackinac Bridge of course) in terms of sheer magnitude- over 400 foot structural height, 135 foot roadway height, and nearly 9,000 foot total length including the sections over land. I can't wait to see it done. well its no pulaski skyway. heh.
