So, there is a church along the east side (i believe) of I-75 that I always pass on the way up to dayton that I really like - Its got a metal standing seam roof (maybe copper), an interesting roof form that defines a tower like form. very swoopy.

anyone know what church it is? searched on bing and google and cant seem to find it... driving me a bit crazy

any suggestions would be helpful!

thanks

luke

what is its nearest landmark? how far from downtown dayton?

Yeah, I need more information than given.  How close is it to downtown?  What specific community?

I dont really know dayton at all - so dont know the specific neighborhood. but i think its a few minutes before you get to downtown, heading north on I75..

the roof has a vertical portion a little like st mary's in sf... (totally different scale, and in copper)

sorry this is such a wild goose chase.

That image helps actually though I can't pinpoint it right off the top of my head.

Hmmm...I still have no clue.  And it's SOUTH of downtown, correct?

Oops, wasn't downtown. Carry on!

Ummm...outside I-675?  Springboro-Franklin-Monroe-outside you mean?  I can't think of ANY church that looks like that outside the beltway or inside the beltway LOL!

yeah, i am thinking south of 675 but it might just be my crazy imagination...

could be south of 675... I've passed it twice on the highway, and never think to figure out exactly where I am.,,,,

Is that a church? I seem to recall a new building that looks sort of like that not far from where 75 meets 70 when I'm heading to the airport from Cincy.

Hmm... I don't know how to post the streetview form Google maps. Maybe on the east side of 75 just south of exit 55B

ha! thats it - it only shows up on street view from i-75 - not from the local streets, nor bing aerial! must be new...

anyone know the name?

thanks!!!!

Ooooooohh...THAT thing.  That's not a church and it's NORTH of downtown heading towards the airport.  That's that 4C for Children building (hell, Boys and Girls Club, or whatever it is).

I knew it was a community center and it used to be a 4C for Children (where that mansion is next door they renovated).  I personally think the building is a load of KROC!!! :D :D :D :D

They have a Kroc Center here in Oregon by my house.  The thing is killer, very popular and the entire community uses it.  It is extremely cheap and the goal was to give kids with little means access to a lot of swimming and fitness activities.

Yes! The Kroc center. I was confusing it with the mosque south of Dayton.

Though the campus as a whole is a community center, I believe there is, in fact, a Salvation Army sanctuary in the tall, swoopy, dramatic building. When it was still going up and I would come down to Dayton to visit my folks, I would just about wreck everytime I drove past, craning my neck to look, trying to maneuver the insane construction zone that is 75 at the same time.
