Here are some pictures of some newer residential properties on the west side. I didn't include Battery Park because its a large development. Most of these are from Detroit Shoreway. I will add more later.

Oh and i took got these from google streetview lol :-P

I did do some slight editing.

Thanks for putting this together!  It's really kind of cool to be able to see them in one place and track how the designs vary based on price point, era and car access.  Are the garages really that colorful now on the Ohio City places in photo 5?  I actually think it looks pretty cool.

Which of these do you think will 'age' best?

Nice pictures, thanks.

^ picture 21 is at is the end of Fruit Ave. in Tremont is it not?

Pretty good quality pictures from Streetview. Thanks!

I don't recognize the location of #2.

correct

I believe #1 and #s 5-7 are the oldest of the group and I'm pretty impressed how well they've held up.  For #1, I think the engineered siding is a big part of it (I remember the architect touting it at design review, anyway).  For #s 5-7, there's been a lot of repainting over the years, so there seems to be a lot of owner re-investment, which is great.  This isn't based on much, but I'd worry most about all those buildings Bridge in terms of durability.

Some of these developments are already 15 yrs old.  I know the ones near 65th across from Edgewater on Fr Caruso have their tax abatements expiring next year.  Ditto for the Tillman townhomes in #1.

I prefer the styles with more brick & stone & less vinyl siding.  In these older established neighborhoods they blend in better and "age" better.

Very cool thread though

Great to see all this new stuff go up, and you don't realize how much there's been till you see it all here together.  Totally agree about the siding though.  There's another thing you don't realize till you see them all together.  Damn that's a lotta siding.  Enough for the whole city, for a very long time.

Just added another one. A few if you missed the first update.

Has anyone priced brick recently?

Great set. It's actually amazing how well the Pastel Townhouses off of Father Caruso have held up considering the pounding that recieve with the wind and winter weather off of the lake there.

I beleive there is a thread around here if somebody would want to revive the "Great Siding Debate"...

^Those are the Townhomes of Ohio City at West 32nd and Clinton.

Thanks. They are very nice!

And, where is #22? Is that one of the new photos added?

No.  We do not.

^haha. Still having nightmares about that thread?

No, about all the other thread that discussion took off topic.

where is #23? even though its driveway city, there's something strangely communal and neighborly about it.

That's part of the West Tech development.
