Okay, I'll admit I'm a geek for lifting bridges.  Not photos, but I plan to take pics of some of my favorite bridges in Chicago.  Found all these videos on youtube

This bridge is used extensively.  I'm surprised they haven't polished it up like so many other bridges in the city.  It gets alot of Metra and Amtrak traffic.  Actually, if you stop on by, it's a good chance you'll see a train cross it.  Watching it go up is a bit easier as the lifting times are posted online.

Here's the 18th street bridge.  It's a wide boulevard running over top.  You can see it only has a single leaf.

The downtown bridges I see alot of.  Again, the schedules are all posted online, so you can know when to get photos

Lake Street bridge...interesting because it's double decked

Lakeshore Drive Bridge, which you can see has lots of problems with people rushing across

I always dig the bridges.

Pretty awesome. The last video is sweet. I would love to be there to see that.  Love the guy's commentary lol...

Love this horrible sounds of steel against steel in this one.  The Columbus Ave bridge is the newest bascule bridge on the river, it's also the loudest and seems to be the slowest.  They don't build em like they used to I guess.
