September 2, 20231 yr Seeds & Sprouts 32 – Glenville library turns page, Cliff Hangers to Clifton, Microcosm Publishing expands, PB Express’ Big Creek container yard By Ken Prendergast / September 2, 2023 Clippers converting to Cliff Hangers on Clifton Located between Starbucks and Twist Social Club in Cleveland’s Edgewater neighborhood, two vacated hair salons could soon be combined into a single establishment called Cliff Hangers. The proposed bar and restaurant is the latest effort by Constantine Katsaros and his best friend and business partner Jack Messer who own Twist and the Landmark restaurant at the corner of Clifton Boulevard and West 117th Street. All of those establishments are in the 83-year-old Lee Solding Building, 11633-11637 Clifton Blvd., owned by Katsaros’ father Peter that was renovated five years ago. October 19, 20231 yr Does anyone know what's going on at this house on Lake Ave around 112th? There is a massive project going on there along with some kind of drilling rig? My only guess is this is some sort of NEORD project to get down to one of their new tunnels?

There are a couple of houses on Edgewater near Lakewood Park that have (or used to have) their own gas wells. Maybe this one is hoping to do the same. Remember: It's the Year of the Snake

Like a private well for natural gas? Interesting, I didn't know that was a thing! Kind of surprised it's economically feasible. I assume there's more regulations/safety concerns but obviously I have no idea what I'm talking about.

I would expect if any are still active they are somehow grandfathered in from late 19/early 20th century when these were estates with a single manor home and more property. I couldn't see getting permission to drill a new well in the current density. This could be maybe a maintenance thing for an old well?

I'm 90% sure that 13955 Edgewater has or had its own gas well; the owner said there were a couple of others that did, too. Remember: It's the Year of the Snake
October 30, 20231 yr Noticed the Virginia Marti/Northcoast College buildings are up for sale/lease. That’s really unfortunate to see.
December 12, 20231 yr Progress on redevelopment of the former Pizza Hut site at the southeast intersection of Detroit and West 117th. I believe @KJPhas reported this to be an urgent care? In any case, please excuse the poor stoplight pic!
December 12, 20231 yr Yep, an urgent care https://neo-trans.blog/2023/07/03/west-117ths-fast-food-makeover/ "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
January 3Jan 3 Crepe and Drip is coming to 1385 West 117th St. on the Cleveland side of the street, according to a sign permit. No permit has been requested for a fitout of this space yet. There is a fitness center in this space now but it doesn't seem too busy. Perhaps it is moving to the third, smaller space to the right of the smoke shop? No building permits have been submitted for that, however. "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
January 3Jan 3 Is there a pun or some wordplay that I can't make out in "crepe and drip" ??? It seems so specific, but I don't get it. 😆

While we get the chocolate angle the use of the color brown does not seem to convey as intended.

January 7Jan 7 Oh man, I just moved a few blocks away off Detroit. If this place is decent, I'm about to spend way too much money there lol.
January 7Jan 7 No pictures, but the complete rebuild of the Arbys across from the Walgreens at W117th/Detroit seems to be proceeding apace Edited January 7Jan 7 by daybreaker
