When I try to quote someone and click on the quote button, I get a small pop up that says "retrieving quote," but nothing ever happens. Is this happening to anyone else?

No problem here.

Could it be my browser or something? I'm on IE, what are you guys using?

I'm on IE8

well shoot. this just sucks. I have had this problem on the site before too. I wonder WTF.

Is it intermittent?  I've had it happen sometimes and not others.  Usually, it's when the site is running slow.  I believe the quote button uses Ajax to go back to the server (no idea why, it seems as if it could gather all of its information from the page directly) and this request is not returning.  Usually it works if I keep trying or exit and come back 15 min or so later.

thx. Hard to answer because I don't often answer by quoting, but it seems to me I've been having this problem for awhile and that's specifically why I haven't quoted anyone in a long time. I have to copy and paste a section of their text instead of using the quote button.

So quoting works fine at home with Firefox. I wonder if it's our version of IE at work or something.

I'm having this problem.  Is there a solution?!  I like to quote people as I despise those "^" or "^^" indicators!

Use Firefox or Chrome.

Unfortunately I dont have a choice.

Quoting works fine w/ me using IE7. Maybe it's your settings?

What version of IE are you forced to use, MTS?

IE 8

It doesn't work for me either. We are forced to use IE at work, we are still on version 7.

I use IE8, and I've never had a problem with quotes. I don't have anything substantive to offer for a solution, but have you tried clicking the Compatibility button? It's the broken-page icon at the top of the browser page, just to the right  of the URL box.

I don't have that button? Just to the R of the URL box is a refresh symbol, then the stop symbol, then a google search window.

you wouldn't. That's for IE8, to dumb it down to IE7, because certain websites don't work well with 8. I have 7, but I haven't had any problems with quoting.

It didn't. I think it must be browser related. I have no problem quoting at home using Firefox but here at work, where I am mandated to use a very old version of IE, it doesn't work. I wonder if it relates to which particular release of, say, IE7 you are using. We are using 7.05730.13CO with "no updates."
