April 25, 201114 yr the warehouse area is actively catering to richard florida's 'creative class' via live/work zoning for artists. the art crowd need the former breweries and scubby industrial area space to do their thing. it's pretty solidly taken hold over the last 10 years, although the rents are outrageous now and i'm not sure how long any 'real' artists will be left.
