Posted June 3, 201114 yr This is for demolitions outside of Detroit. The 120 year old McNally Cottage on Mackinac Island might be demolished for a new hotel. http://www.freep.com/article/20110602/BUSINESS04/106020458/Fate-historic-Mackinac-Island-hotel-debated-by-owner-city
July 1, 201113 yr Amazing. In Ann Arbor, the University wants to move a dumpy suburban house because they don't want it anymore and don't want to tear it down. Yet at Mackinaw Island, a historic structure may be destroyed. They better block this. All this garbage talk about "create tax base...help the state." B.S. Mackinaw Island generates more than enough revenue. 1 building isn't going to be all that noticeable.
July 1, 201113 yr When I think of Mackinac I think Hilton and a great pool and a huge breakfast buffet. I mean, what do these people want, to preserve the history and culture of a truly unique place? How quaint.
