Posted June 17, 201113 yr Cincinnati in the spring Cincinnati is one busy city in the spring time. Not only do the trees start blooming and tulips bud out, but construction season officially begins. Here is a sample of what's been photographed around the Queen City in the past few months! Evanston Construction work progresses on Dana Avenue between Victory Parkway eastward to Interstate 71. The reconstructed Dana will feature two-lanes in each direction with Further east, between Interstate 71 and Madison Road, Dana Avenue was repaved last year as part of a routine asphalt resurfacing project. The roadway configuration was modified, however, from three through-lanes in each direction with a turning lane to two through-lanes in each direction with a turning lane and two bike lanes, one for each direction. 1 Dana Avenue reconstruction at Xavier University progresses with utility relocation in this April 2011 photograph. June 17, 201113 yr Spring in Cincinnati Cincinnati always blooms out during the spring time, in ways that are rarely captured, studied or admired. To many, they are just blips in a sea of buildings as the car passes by, but by stepping out and admiring the hundreds of different species that are cultivated or blown in, one can appreciate just what plant diversity Cincinnati really has. Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden You can't argue with the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden. The following were taken during the annual Tunes and Blooms event that was held every Thursday in April. 27 Blue Jacket Hyacinth 28 Blue Jacket Hyacinth 29 Pink Pearl Hyacinth 30 Pink Pearl Hyacinth 31 Banja Luka Tulip 32 Tulip about to open 33 Monsella Tulip 34 35 Yellow narcissus 36 37 White narcissus 38 The crowd at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden was awaiting a musican to perform during the annual April Tunes and Blooms Event. 39 Tulips abound at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden. 40 A dogwood in bloom. 41 42 Purple Creeping Phlox in the foreground, and red Columbines rise in the back. August 2, 201113 yr These are wonderful Sherman. The photos of The Banks are especially good, and great for a guy like me who hasn't been in Cincinnati for quite a few months to see the progress first-hand.
