RTA Bar Crawl is growing.

According to our RSVP's, we currently have 87 ATTENDING, 101 MAYBES.

We're hoping to have a writer from Scene Magazine and CWRU Observer tag along.

Conrats Joe on the event and the write-up in Freshwater, I hope the turnout is great and it becomes a regular thing.

A couple of good lines from the article:

"It's also my hope that people will come away from the crawl envisioning life living in Cleveland proper. Walking, riding a bike or taking public transit to work, being part of the ongoing revitalization and knowing your fellow Clevelanders instead of going from boxed house to box car to office, back home to fall asleep and repeat."

"Meanwhile, I'm laughing to myself," he adds, "because I fought like hell to get out of the suburbs!"

CLEJoe,

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CONTACT THE BARS THAT YOU PLAN ON GOING TO AND GIVE THEM A HEADS UP!!!

From my years behind the bar, groups that call ahead so that we can properly staff, are wonderful.  Bus loads of people who show up out of the blue are a nightmare.

So who here will be going to the RTA Bar Crawl besides Joe and I???

^I will be going!

Great!  Make sure to introduce yourself to us!

I wish I could be there, but I'll be out of town.  Have a drink or 20 for me.

TODAY IS THE DAY!!

Godspeed.

Ten years ago I would have joined you. But eight years ago I quit drinking.

Have a fun time! Don't throw up on the RTA police.... puke.gif

Guess its better to ave all the drunks on the bus than on the roads. I feel sorry for sober passengers, though. I have to ask if this is the best way to show people "how easy it is to use RTA" than having a DD. I somehow am reminded of 10 cent beer night marketing ideas.

How did it go?!?

The inaugural RTA Bar Crawl was a resounding SUCCESS!!! Thanks to any and all UO folks who came out to support the crawl. I'll do a write up featuring pictures and the amount raised for the official charity, We Run This City, soon.

And coming soon to a Rocky River/Lakewood/Edgewater/Gordon Square/Downtown bar near you, it's the RTA West Side Bar Crawl! We'll be starting in Rocky River to watch the Buckeyes play at noon and depart toward Lakewood right after. Dates under consideration are 9/17 (Buckeyes @ Hurricanes) or 9/24 (Buffaloes @ Buckeyes). Any preference? DISCUSS!

  • 2 weeks later...

So, has a date been chosen yet?

Looking like 9/24, but need to confirm with some bars. Will keep you all posted!
