Posted July 25, 201113 yr The third part of my summer Detroit phototour is still in the heart of the city, in the Arden Park-East Boston Historic District, located directly to the east of the historic Boston-Edison Historic District. Albeit much smaller than Boston-Edison, with only about 100 homes, this neighborhood retains the similar architecture, grassy median and tree-lined streets that its neighbor Boston-Edison has. The most distinctive monument in the neighborhood is the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament church, on Woodward Avenue near the gateway to the neighborhood. Without further ado, here's part 3 of my Detroit summer tour! Looking up at the amazing Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in the Arden Park-East Boston historic district, across from Boston-Edison, built in 1913... Front doors... The entire front of the church... Side view of the church... Entrance to Arden Park-East Boston Historic Neighborhood... taken on East Boston... The homes here are very similar to the Boston-Edison District's Some houses, while in good shape, like this one, are in need of some work... Grassy medians and trees are a feature of the Boston-Edison and Arden Park-East Boston neighborhoods... Another house, while in good shape, in need of work, as you can tell by the boards... Sometimes it's difficult to take pictures on a bike and when someone is sitting on the porch, looking... Arden Park Blvd gates to the neigbhorhood... A roughed-up place on Woodward Avenue, near Boston-Edison, tremendous potential... Looking south on busy Woodward Avenue towards New Center and Downtown... Detroit Women's Institute... Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church North Woodward Avenue Congregational Church, you know, that's one of the unique things about Woodward, so much history and so many churches... a visitor would be fascinated... First Baptist Church of Detroit Cathedral Church of St. Paul Still in Midtown, on Mack Avenue is the former home of Detroit architect, Albert Kahn, headquarters of the Detroit Urban League... Michigan plaque for the Detroit Urban League... Another angle of the house, as is common with the design, many homes in Boston-Edison and Arden Park-East Boston were designed by Kahn... Biking south on John R in Brush Park towards downtown and the Renaissance Center... Comerica Park, it was busy today, because while I was going to the Perfect Circle concert in the Fox Theatre, the Vans Warped Tour was playing Comerica Park's parking lot! Even though no sports teams were playing, it was BUSY weekend in Detroit! Hope you enjoyed part 3, part 4 with more of New Center and Downtown coming soon!

July 30, 201113 yr LOL, nice you got my friend's house. You can buy some of these mansions for cheap. Unfortunately the cost to heat one of these is unbelievable.
