July 28, 201113 yr I guess when I lived in NJ I should have gotten off the turnpike more and looked around. Whenever I saw exit signs for "The Oranges" I was figuring it was a Newark like blob of urban grit. This looks really, really pleasant.
July 28, 201113 yr Nice pics. I haven't been to New Jersey in a while, but it's one of my favorite states. New Jersey has got to be one of the most polarizing states in the nation; very poor and dangerous cities with some of the wealthiest and safest suburbs in the nation. For example, South Orange is literally right next to Irvington, one of the most dangerous cities in the state.

West Orange and South Orange are Middle Class / Rich and East Orange and Orange are middle Class / Poor. None of the Oranges are like Irvington or the western part of Newark....there nicer then that but each has there own set of problems.

For example, South Orange is literally right next to Irvington, one of the most dangerous cities in the state. Its a nice town next to a dangerous town....yet very little violent crime happens in South Orange. Actually all the Oranges are seeing a dropping crime rate , due to a Camera network , more police , raids , gentrification around the dense Transitways.... Irvington is the only city in North Jersey that probably won't improve for another 20 years....
