The Rest will come later...

interesting stats thx!

just for comparison the busiest station is tokyo shinjuku with 3.64M daily riders in 2007 (all trains not just subways).

Simply amazing and mesmerizing, these videos!  What is there not to love about the vast and complex NYC subway system? (Does anybody completely understand it?  I don't know...)  Thanks, Nexis4Jersey, for this combined tour; awaiting the rest!

That is disgusting

That's hilarious!

I'm sure one of our stations in this region Penn to be exact will break a million by 2030 or more....

Its a big system and takes months to understand , but once you do it becomes a part of your family.....using it daily to go everywhere or do anything...

Yeah, every time I go to NYC - which is a lot, I have to get reacquainted with the system. With Google Maps at my side though, I can plot out the best route to take with just the simple press of a fingertip. Makes it a lot easier, but it's not really all that much more difficult than remembering which route to take to go home during rush hour to avoid traffic.

i dont agree.  My 10 year old nephew has the system down. You just need to remember the (majority of ) local train stations in Manhattan are on the same cross town streets.  With Google maps its impossible to get lost.  When my nephews and nieces come to visit the get around on the system with no problem.  And the ride NYC Transit, LIRR and NJ Transit.  Last week my 10 year old nephew, 11 year old niece, 14 year old cousin and brother went to Asbury Park, this morning the kids and my grand parents went to Long Beach. I've never been to either of those places

actually the subway confuses a lot of big city euros and others because of the express services.

also, the weekend service changes are often madness even for hardcore straphangers.
