June 3, 20241 yr Few quick looks at Jaeger Square as the fencing along Kossuth, on the north side of the project, is down
June 13, 20241 yr The streetscape is so overwhelmed! The rustic charm of German Village is ruined forever!!!! “To an Ohio resident - wherever he lives - some other part of his state seems unreal.”
June 13, 20241 yr Rustic as in 1 business then 15 houses, 1 business another 15 houses, 1 business. Will this have two or even three businesses side-by-side?

August 16, 2024Aug 16 It looks great other than the metal panels. I hope that craze ends soon, it just looks cheap and usually warps before they are even done with building.

August 26, 2024Aug 26 The City website doesn't currently have their infrastructure project fact sheets available, but that seems to be the direction: Quote Greenlawn Avenue 2025- New/Renovation Infrastructure: Greenlawn Avenue: $2.8 Million This project consists of geometric and mobility improvements to the intersections of Greenlawn Avenue at S. Front Street and S. High Street at Greenlawn Avenue/Thurman Avenue. The road alignment will be improved so the intersection isn’t offset and motorists will be able to turn left onto High Street from Thurman Ave or Greenlawn Ave. This project will include traffic signal improvements, addition of a shared use path, sidewalk, and signal interconnect. This project will also include incidental improvements such as drainage, traffic control, sediment and erosion control, waterline relocation, and maintenance of traffic.

August 27, 2024Aug 27 As far as I know, the City's realignment project isn't currently planning to use the entire parcel. A Take 5 Oil change was proposed and received variances for the site, and they agreed to dedicate additional right-of-way for the City's project. It looks like the Take 5 last submitted a site plan in April of 2024. I'm not sure if it's moving forward now or what; my understanding is the building was finally demolished because the property was becoming a nuisance, and not necessarily because they are ready to move forward with the Take 5 oil change. It's not entirely clear how long they have to build the Take 5 oil change before their 'grandfathering' status would expire. An oil change facility is not a permitted use under the new mixed-use zoning that was passed as part of Zone In.
August 30, 2024Aug 30 Terrible usage for this site, what a joke. Old Long John Silver's torn down to make way for new business A long-vacant restaurant building on Columbus' south side is no more. This week demolition crews finally took down the former Long John Silver’s at 1108 S. High St. A Take 5 Oil Change will be coming to that site. The plans, which first were proposed in early 2022 and approved last summer, show a nearly 1,500-square-foot building with three service bays for customers.

September 30, 2024Sep 30 Couldn’t remember if E Livingston counts for German Village or not, so please move if it doesn’t go here. A preliminary site plan was just filed for 247 E Livingston. Here is the plan: Cedar Square Development The project will demolish a portion of an existing building and the parking lot on site. A new 5 story, mixed used residential building will be constructed with 1st floor parking. Several existing buildings will remain on site. It was filed by Toula Management Edited September 30, 2024Sep 30 by VintageLife

Hopefully they add some first floor retail space.

It looks like the building has the same name and would be in the same location as the current proposal. I don't think the new project is for the entire stretch though and would just be the east building (building a). New 55-Unit Residential Development Planned in German Village
