Nice-looking town, with some truly striking buildings. I like the Art Deco touches here and there.

Nice looking city!! I really should visit!

Seriously, great presentation of Billtown. When did you go? Certainly before the LL World Series.

You two didn't meet up?  UO FAIL!!!

"Pennsylvania Grit"?  Just exactly what was that place?  Nice photos, an interesting looking town.

What a variety of handsome buildings! I hope that this city will be able to preserve and maintain such architectural wealth. Thank you for the tour!

A few updates to this thread:

Sadly, the yellow building has been demolished. It suffered a fire back in April. They plan to rebuild in the same location. I'm glad they're filling the spot but I'm going to miss the uniqueness of the building.

And a bit of great news. The storefront with all of the news paper on the windows is now Williamsport's only contemporary art gallery, Grey Art Gallery. A good friend of mine owns it and it compares to galleries you would see in Chelsea. Great addition to the downtown and every month the gallery keeps getting better.

Taken today by the owner to promote his new show that opens today.

Grit was a weekly newspaper published in Williamsport:

My grandmother used to get Grit by mail, and read it thoroughly. Her parents moved to Indiana from the Lebanon, Pennsylvania, area in the late 1800s, and probably read it to keep up on what was going on back home; likely my grandmother got in the habit of reading it while she was growing up.
