Posted September 19, 201113 yr As a part of the http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,25700.msg553078.html - Cleveland neighborhood map (update coming out this week!), I've been visiting different parts of the city to verify streets exist and to learn about the neighborhoods. :) Here's photos from my journey last week throughout the East side, primarily in Hough and Glenville. (and here's the route that I had taken): http://utrack.crempa.net/report/saved_report.php?ident=f9a2aa43dbcb0fbe80e53c9c120b7373&lang=en one of the first photos I had taken that morning was one my most memorable ones that I've seen this summer. corner of 90th and Ann ct: let's continue north to where my mom and many other Polish families grew up: the playground at the new sowinski School on Kosciuszko Ave (cleveland pub. elementary school): st. casimir's church is just stone's throw away from here. . New Jerusalem Baptist Church, future site of (on kosciuskzo ave, west of sowinski school and st. casimir's): now, east of MLK and east blvds, a few blocks with some of the nicest houses in the city of Cleveland ! (kudos to other UO's who have promoted this area in earlier topics) corner of parkhill and thorn: 97th and thorn (look at those roofs!): This alley doesn't exist anymore :/ <img src="http://i.imgur.com/wT3KBl.jpg" alt="" title="Hosted by imgur.com" /> As you go north of pierpont, the housing stock drops drastically. :( <img src="http://i.imgur.com/kHnOvl.jpg" alt="" title="Hosted by imgur.com" /> Looking to buy a house ? stucco, ( e 97 yes, this is in Cleveland! (south blvd and e 98) this has good potential: (e98) I love these houses...it's E.99th ! <img src="http://i.imgur.com/2D9h6l.jpg" alt="" title="Hosted by imgur.com" /> Alas, just 5 houses from east 99th: on olivet :( As you go east of 99th, the housing stock changes, with more doubles/duplexes (2 family homes) [these duplexes were mainly between 99th and 105), with few board ups and empty lots, especially after 105th. There's a few exceptions, including this one on drexel. A few of the houses in this neighborhood, including this one, have bars on its 1st floor windows. <img src="http://i.imgur.com/uocuBl.jpg" alt="" title="Hosted by imgur.com" /> I Hope to post part 2 [going south to wade park ave] in the next few days.

Im really surprised they dont all have them. In DC it is just standard. That wonderful house with the for sale sign, I saw a while back on Howard Hanna's site. It really is nice and they did a great job of restoring it. Too bad they wont get much for it.
September 19, 201113 yr May I suggest that you take pictures at times of the day when the lighting is better? I would love to see these houses but all I can see are silhouettes in many of the pictures. I'd hate to see you waste a trip into tough neighborhoods! :) "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
September 19, 201113 yr Some incredible stock which simply cannot be allowed to vanish to be replaced with spit and paste.
September 19, 201113 yr Totally agree with ^ and ^^. Yes, if you're gonna venture into some of the tougher neighborhoods, make sure you can get something more viewable. I dig the house with the columns, I believe thats on South Blvd and a couple ( ♂♂ ) renovated it some years back. Unless this is the owners after them.

It is on South Blvd. Thanks for the Feedback about the picture quality. I noticed that the poorer pictures which had silhouettes [97th and thorn; this has good potential] were all shot towards the east [my back facing the west] during the sunrise (between 7-9am). The photos that were shot facing west (with the sun to my back) [(south blvd and e 98, stucco] came out much better. I'll try to edit them and see if I can make an improvement (none of the above photos had any processing on them and were shot using the camera on a droid phone).
