I have a friend who is currently putting together a calendar with the theme: "Lake Erie Highlights."  He wants the calendar to contain historical and educational information about Lake Erie (with each month having a subject such as Perry Memorial/Walter Mather/Marblehead/etc.). Does anyone know a good place to get information about these sites, as well as possible pictures for the calendar?

If you're friend is creating a calendar, why would he use someone elses photos without booking photographers?  Using someone elses photos without their permission is a huge NO-NO.  I hope you asking, "do we have contacts that would be willing to sell or donate photos to your friends (published) calendar?"

Haha, that's exactly what I said to him!  He moreso wants information about sites, and ideas for which sites to use.  (I don't think he would mind donated pictures either, it won't be a calendar for sale, just to give away to people.  At least as I understand it.)

He wants everyone to know he will surely go through the correct channels in everything, it is a promotional calendar, and acknowledgements will be given for all help.

My picks:

 

Skyline and/or harbor shots, either modern or historical, of Toledo, Sandusky, Cleveland, and Buffalo,

Cedar Point amusement park,

Flagship Niagara (Erie, Pennsylvania,)

Something about Fort Detroit,

Niagara Falls,

The Erie Canal,

A freighter,

A tall ship,

A shipwreck.

 

That makes 12. I'm sure the members of Urban Ohio will help you find photos.

 

 

What about anything relating to natural history...aquatic life? I have plenty of photos. Have your friend PM me.
