Posted October 11, 201113 yr nice article about urban ex-pat networks that are springing up. some pointed observations and its interesting as formerly groups like these were limited to colleges/sports fans. hopefully they can make an impact: http://www.thelmagazine.com/newyork/on-urban-ex-pat-networks-in-nyc/Content?oid=2179388
October 11, 201113 yr I see old Aaron Renn got some quotes in there! Good to see him breaking out like this. Recall he was an occasional poster here at UO. Now, I wonder if there is an urban expat network for ex-Louisvillians. Id definetly join that.
October 11, 201113 yr I don't think there's a formal ex-pat network of former residents of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, as they seem to be widely dispersed. There's a lot of communication among them, though. A few weeks after I posted photos from Johnstown on my web site in 2006, page views shot up and I started receiving emails from across the U.S. and even a few from Europe. I think the one-day peak was about 1,200, and over the space of a couple of weeks there were a total of about 4,000. Five years later, I still receive an occasional email from someone reminiscing about their childhood years there and thanking me for sharing the photos.
